There is always and added value when you go for farming generally speaking you learn from people and people also learn from you this will give you a very good mind of administration no matter how easy or hard it is. learning along the line will give you the opportunity to meet hundreds or thousands of people who are in your field or outside your field. When we were in the university we were told so many things about how you can be exposed when you are into agriculture which means learning is a day-to-day activity unless you want to be left out even as for information on update on agricultural lifestyle. I could imagine going for this kind of career and learning still goes on each day. We were told and also we learnt about different aspect of Agriculture the fisheries, the soil, the water, animal production and so on we were also exposed to laboratory test and more.
I visited this particular fish milling industry which is a local made factory. They gather up their own raw materials from the wholesalers and they come to convert it into fish meal or fish feeds. I took so many pictures of how it is done at the moment when I was there and I would like to show us how it went.
The Raw Materials Used.
- I was shown some real materials such as maize, groundnut cake, palm kernel cake, Wheat oval and so on.
- The fish milling machine has the capacity of making 10 tons per day which I was also told when I made the enquiry from the Workers. These are the processes and stages it went through.
- After this raw material are being conveyed into the machine at first it will grind and mix them together. the work I will pack them into a sack then move them to another machine to add a little bit of water likewise mix it together again. Then the last page I was told was that it will also moveto another section which is the final machine that we had a little bit of steam that regulated amount then pellet the fish feed itself then it will be packed and spread into the bare floor.
The Machine PLANT.
- They use this big plants to source their electricity and it is being used 24 hours. I was told that light never go off.
