Hello agriculturists in the house.....how's your farms and gardens all doing?
We'll we've always been in close observation of what we plant to see the extent of its growth.
You know we farmers can be very interesting, checking out our crops on a daily basis........I definitely know that feeling
So I've been on the lookout for this particular plant, it's a perenial crop and that tells you how long I've been on the lookout for its maturity
It's actually a Coconut plant
There's this coconut seed that has been under my watch for a long time now.... about 6 years now to be precise
This particular coconut has been very stubborn and slow to mature
But recently I started noticing some changes
Signs of maturity I mean
So the first change was that it started developing the sparth, which appears to be folded at first but opens wider and wider as the day goes by
Another major observation was the evidence of many flowers in the sparth, I think these flowers represented a coconut
Some fell off while some lingered on
And I started seeing the growth to maturity......yep, the coconut started forming, from a little bulb to a big hardened ripe coconut ready for consumption which I do enjoy every bit of
Agriculture requires patience, I did really felt bad and discouraged
It got to a point that I started encouraging my dad to chop off the damn tree but he resisted
Take a look at it....I mean 6 years of waiting
It's worth the wait
Hey yo lovely hardworking gardeners and farmers
All I would say is:
- Work hard
- Plant
- Nurture
- Water
- Protect
And watch it blossom right before your very eyes
