We learned an important lesson about trading from one of the world’s greatest painters and thought it would be nice to share with you.
One day, Picasso was sitting in a park, sketching. A woman approached him and pleaded that he drew her a portrait. He obliged, and within a few minutes, handed her a beautiful artwork. She was delighted and asked how much she owed him.
“$10,000,” said Picasso.
“But you did that in just 5 minutes,” the surprised woman asked.
“No,” Picasso said. “It has taken me forty years to learn to do that.”
What does this story have to do with trading? You may ask#
Well, trading like painting takes time to master. If like Picasso you want to become good at it, here are three things you must do:
Accept that you still need to learn (so don’t quit)
Challenge yourself to practice every day deliberately
Keep practising until you see improvements in your skills
