I woke up this morning with a dread only a gloomy cloud could produce on a drug induced dream. Akin to taking an ayahuasca trip in the jungles of the Amazon. Without a guide to help me see the lessons contained within the lucid waking dream.
Went on a little science trip this morning listening to TED talks. I gotta love how easy it is to sink ones self into a rabbit hole where you just don't know if the light at the end of the tunnel is the end or just a precursor to being bitten off by a waiting wolf, ready to devour your soul.
Epigenetics.
Something about Latin words for 'above' and 'genes'?... or something along those lines. It took me on a merry go round trying to figure out what it is that really means to be able to teach your kids or future generations baring your DNA. The nature vs nurture argument. Of course there is something to be said about the prevalence of anyone wanting to get attention into something they think is worth while. Along the lines of Albert Einstein waking up from the train and light travel, just before he was able to convince all of us on its merits.
The ability to convey your minds eye image to other people without the ability to make them see what you are seeing. That big picture thinking. The eureka moment. It is just there but still not able to be touched, perseverance really is the nugget in all the things one reads, listens to and experiences. With so many theories dreamed up all the time it is a wonder we are able to get to the bottom of theories still unproven. Then again that is what experimentation is all about in the first place.
Can one really say they are in the cusps of breaking the light barrier with a design pictured in their head when they are not even able to screw in a light bulb? You never really know.
Where was I?
Histones. It's really about your chromosomes being wrapped around signal makers that tell you inside what your body should be watching for? Or at the very least shape how your offspring will end up being. It's interesting how in the end of the TED talk they state while there are no concrete proof of lessons or at the very least characteristics being passed on to your offspring all experimentations conducted on animals have resulted in the same conclusion, knowledge is passed on to their offspring through the parents environment.
I would want to know if there is a way we can find out if there are regenerative or regeneration properties contained within the histones in our body. That is my ending thought.
