Usually when I start talking, my anxiety makes me forget what I was about to say. It's something I know that many people have trouble with, but when we have to pay more attention to it?
For me, since I'm in the last year of my career, I will have to be very clear explaining the diseases and treatments of my patients to their owners. The most important part of being a vet is to diagnostic the diseases and give the correct treatment, but they need excellent communication skills to share that info and pet's owners feels in comfort.
I always have been the kind of person that speak to fast, to loud, misspelling, and now that I'm so close to get graduated I am aware (and scare) for that.

Forgetting words
When I write or say something incorrectly, I try to avoid from doing it again, but still, after 2 or 3 weeks I keep making the same mistakes, even if I practice regularly, I keep falling in those errors, is frustrating. Of course, most of the words are in English, since is not my native language I know that its normal to have errors and keep forgetting things, so isn't something to creep out.
I have been reading to find a solution, hopefully I didn't find anything related with brain cancer -JKš- but most of the opinions I got said that the problem could be lack of attention. This lack of attention from me, comes from long time ago and is caused for many things, one of them could be anxiety. Most of the people of this generation have anxiety issues caused by the internet, social media, fake life's, the enormous cost of living in a city, the lack of work or living itself, it's exhausting.
In my attempts to remember everything I try this:
- Use the word at least in 3 sentences (and repeat it)
- Keep using it or remember it every day for 1 week
I have been doing this for a month and I got satisfactory results, the secret is to be constant. At the same time, is anxiety is an issue the better option is to go with a psychologist if you can't handle it by yourself, nowadays most of the people go to the psychologist, is something normal compared few years ago, most of it caused from the pandemic.
Forgetting treatments š³
Yes, that's right, with this problem with my memory, I most of the time forget the dosifications of drugs. I always must read the pharmacological guide to have it, despite I read it thousands of times if I don't use it for 4 days, I forgot it and need to search it again, it's kind annoying.
The same it is with diseases, but all the vets told me that I have to be patient with it, when I got my own patients, it would be easier for me to remember everything because it will be part of my day-to-day. I realized all the problem start when I get frustrated in think too much what will happen instead acting immediately.
So, the best thing to do is keep practicing every day, if isn't working at the beginning try a different thing, and keep doing it without desisting, at the end the effort will worth a lot, most of it for you and your profession, because we will always have to deal with people.
