It's the first day of the year and I'm extremely grateful. Wow, last year passed by in a flash. It was a roller-coaster year filled with more ups than downs, both in my personal life and here on the hive. In terms of hive highs, I was able to achieve a lot of things. I managed to reach reputation 60, I grew my hive power to approximately 300hp (not where I thought I'd be, but I'm grateful), I joined the newbies initiative, I managed to make a handful of friends, and I was able to put in a good number of posts and comments even with how tight my schedule was at times. All in all, I'm really proud of my Hive achievements this year.
Today is the first day of the new year, and I've made it a habit to list my goals for the next year. So here are the goals I will be working to achieve by the end of the year 2022.
Have atleast 1,200 hivepower (staked hive)
Having a high hive power is very important to every hiveian as it enables us to have resource credits which we will use to interact on the hive blockchain. It also gives us a higher vote value, such that we are able to earn significant curation rewards in the form of hivepower.
As I stated earlier, I currently have 300 hive power, so 1,200 hive power is multiplying my current hive power by four. I believe that with consistent interaction, posting, participating in power up day, and powering up a couple of posts, I should be able to accomplish this fairly easily.
Obtain a reputation of atleast 70.
I don't know what my obsession with reputation is, but I just feel good having a big number in front of my name. Most of the time, when I receive a comment from someone I don't know, the first thing I do is check the reputation, then the time the person joined. If the reputation is impressive for the time the person joined, I check out their posts to see why he or she has such a good reputation. Reputation shows someone posting quality content since it increases as a result of receiving votes. Having a high reputation also increases post visibility, everyone wants more eyes on their posts.
Get into blockchain gaming.
This is something that I should have done last year, but I've been coming up with one excuse or the other. This year I'm diving straight in. Starting with Rabona because I love football. Once I get in, if I enjoy it, then I'll start playing others like Dcrops, Rising Star, and even Splinterlands.
Be more consistent in my posting and commenting.
I haven't checked the stats, but I feel like in terms of posting and interacting, I haven't been consistent. I've had periods when I'm very active and periods when it seems like I've taken a break from the hive. I'm going to put conscious effort into being consistent in this new year.
Get back to writing fiction weekly.
A few months ago, I used to participate actively in the inkwell weekly prompts. But as time passed, it got a bit harder for me to create fiction, and little by little, I found myself not participating. I'm looking to reignite my passion for fiction writing this year, and hopefully I'll be able to sustain it this time around.
All of these goals are very achieveable. I'm hopeful by this time next year all theseboxes would have been ticked. Happy new year, I wish you success in all of your dealings this year.
