Today marks the anniversary of the Bitcoin Whitepaper being published on the internet. It was October 31st, 2008 when the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto submitted the Whitepaper called "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" to the cryptography mailing list "Metzdown.com"
The mining of the first block would come a couple of months later, and sometime after Satoshi would disappear from the spotlight leaving questions about the identity of the person or group that ushered us into a new era of economic freedom. Who was Satoshi? We might never know but the legacy that they left behind is important.

The date itself (October 31st) could have been significant as it is Halloween the all hallows eve where the old world traditions and dogmas are purified in order to be accepted into a new era. This stands true also about finance and money, and Bitcoin brought that new era to life.
Much has happened since then, bull markets and bear markets that correspond to halving cycles, forks and different visions, new tokens and projects, new tech being developed. Despite that, Bitcoin is still here; the leader at the forefront of all of this.
Happy Bitcoin Whitepaper Day!
