Ok, so I got this idea because I wanted to take part in the acronym contest that's being run by @battleaxe.
I think I came across it in the Hot or Trending section but it got buried and now i can't find the post. With so many contests being run on POB, we need a good way to organize all of them so that people can find them and not miss out.
Searching for contests gives you a ton of contest entries which while they are interesting, still doesn't help one find what they are looking for.
The easy way
Well, the easy way would be to create a post about all the ongoing contests and have it stickied to the top. This is what most sites would do. Relatively simple and easy to do.
The downside to this is that it has to be actively maintained by someone. They need to check if a contest is still ongoing week to week.
The not so easy way
So, let's try to do it a little less manually. Here's my idea:
Contest organizers can talk to @proofofbrainio and get a token to include in their post's HTML.
The pob front-end will pull all posts with the token included from the last 7 days into the stickied post.
So if this is an ongoing contest, the organizer would include the same token in their post for the following week and it would get pulled in. The old post for the previous week would expire and drop off the stickied post.
Again, although this idea's written for POB, i think Hive.blog or any tribe could implement it.
Beneficiaries set correctly, I hope.
