We've been living in this house for a few years. Nothing would have really prepared me for what was about to happen. Sure, they told us that if a disaster ever hit that we'd just have to hide in our basement and put on gas masks...that everything would blow over quickly. That's not exactly how it happenend.
I was sweeping the floor in my kitchen, occasionally glancing out the kitchen window to catch glimpses of the green hillsides and to enjoy the singing of the birds nearby. With a ponytail and whispies falling at my cheeks, my three little children were playing in the living room. It was at this moment, while I was leaning against my broom with a sun-splashed warmth coating my dress and apron, that I saw a flash of light. Almost immediately there was a plume of green and purple smoke shooting up with an orange tinged halo near the origin of the flash.
What I was trained for was finally happening. I waddled to the window for the origin, a flash occurred, sending a ray of light through the town and another plume of green and purple burst into the sky, fascinating my children.it started right at the centre. Losing its light until it got to the outskirts of town where our house was cited before it disappeared completely.
And then the screams started. The robot's apocalypse has begun after 50 years. She ran to the top room, looking through the window and was happy and helpful. Robots were raging. They pushed their humans down, stomped on them all while emitting both hydrogen and oxygen. One of the girls combusted from the flame and the oxy-hydrogen flame. A gasp tore through my throat when a little girl went into the flames. After staying and cooling themselves in their homes for 20 years, the people were confused and helpless without their robots. Depending on nothing but their robots to deal with all their work. They did nothing but stayed in their rooms and controlled the Androids to work for them. But now, they were forced out of their homes to interact and save each other. The stairs groaned as I ran down and the creak of the door filled the now silent arena. After racing up my head, I saw @mrenglish, @princessbusayo, @jamesrusell and @kenechukwu making their way out.
The kids were now seated on the grass, looking at the sky COREY, KADE, JULIE!!. None of them was listening, still fascinated by the now increasing flame. The green and the purple flame combined with the orange flame of the fire made the sky like every romantic girl's dream sunset. It was a beauty to behold but dangerous to wait upon. Julie, my first daughter, froze and began to cough. Knowing fully well that teenage girls just like jullie get attracted to such romantic views and that she should remain would start having reactions which would affect me. This would end up making my children traumatized forever. Jullie!! Julie!! I yelled at my stubborn daughter to make up her mind to follow me down to the basement just for safety. She was social media like and wanted to take pictures with such magnificent views before us. She was too stubborn to follow down to the basement.
I ran to the door hoping she and her siblings would be there in a few minutes but for me to get to the living room to find her still standing there with her phone in her hand. After so many years of training my kids to be submissive and respectful, Julie still proved to be black sheep. With her adamant behaviour, she had always been like her dad and she would probably turn out to be the perfect epitome of him losing everything to him just to be contented herself. Now, I couldn't let her turn out like that.
Immediately I found myself picking up Kade, the last child and dragged Julie in with me, Cory following right behind me. A click resounded as I pulled the door shut. I dragged the gas from the closet with me before pushing on an alone string that was down the hallway. I handed them the gas masks and pushed them forward.
