Hard to believe we have already reached the 4th quarter! Soon, we will be putting 2022 into the history books... and it has been quite a year, in so many respects.
As usual — and mostly for my own edification and record keeping — I'm going to take a moment to examine "how I'm doing," as compared to the quite modest goals I set for this very small account.
Hive Progress
Since I mostly created this account to explore Hive's many communities, my 2022 goals for Hive proper were extremely modest:
Reach 250 Hive Power by the end of 2022. As of this writing, I have reached 241.444HP, so that one looks like it is pretty much accomplished. Why set such a small goal? I know my limited time, and this is an "experimental" endeavor... not something I have time to grind away at, every day.
Not going to change my goal; I will regard any overage as something to put towards my next goal of reaching full "minnowhood" by the end of 2023 — which takes 552 Hive Power.
My other Hive objective was to work on building an HBD savings balance, to take advantage of the 20% interest, for as long as it lasts. So far I am at 57.49 HBD in savings. I didn't have a formal goal at the beginning of the year, so I'm just going to keep dribbling a few cents in there, here and there. I'll set a "formal" savings goal in 2023.
Community Tokens
In spite of the account name, my focus is pretty much OFF the PAL token and PALNet community, as its focus is no longer related to content creation and enagement.
After PAL, I got involved with VYB, which looked promising for a while but seems to have more or less ground to a halt, sadly. Just for the record, I have reached 1,763 VYB tokens, but they hardly have much value anymore.
On the upside, I have slowly been staking POB, another one-time "high flyer" that has come back down to earth but was holding up a little better till it took a steep dive off a cliff, a couple of days back. Hopefully it will get back on track. For the record, I have 409 POB tokens staked at the end of the quarter; hoping to have 500 by year-end.
Starting in mid-year, I also decided to throw a few spare cents here and there at Hive-Engine's own BEE token. That will be one of my bigger objectives for next year... If I'm supporting communities, it only makes sense to support the core of community creation on Hive Engine. For the record, I have a modest 32.157 BEE Tokens staked, most of them added fairly recently.
"Investment" Tokens, and Other Bits...
I decided to occasionally set aside a few coins into some of the Hive-Engine "investment" tokens... the ones that often offer a trickle of dividends, and aren't staked to a community.
The best performing, by far, have been my few BRO coins; I ended the quarter with 2.40 BRO which isn't much, but at over 8 Hive each, it's more than it sounds!
Along the way, I have also bought a few DHEDGE tokens. Although they seem to have lost a bit of ground, I like the fact that some of the "drip" dividends are paid in BRO. At the end of the quarter, I had 278.432 DHEDGE. I may add a few more, if I have a little liquid reward that I am not earmarking for HBD.
On a smaller scale, I also have a few EDS tokens along with a few LBI tokens. I've had those for a while, and for now they can just "sit there."
In the "Other Bits" category, I have scraped together a few of LeoFinance's LEO tokens (67.796), which I'm happy for since LeoFinance is a very active community, and I hope LEO will eventually break out again. I have also been watching the ALIVE token which seems to be bucking the greater downtrend in Hive-engine tokens. I only have 18.161 of them, but they have become an "item of interest."
And I think that's about all that's fit to be included in this summary! How did YOUR 3rd quarter turn out? Are you making your goals for 2022?
