It has been a while since I last took a moment I have a look at the progress towards my 2025 Hive and Hive-Engine goals. I am also far overdue for a Saturday Savers update!
To suggest that the past month or so has been hectic and turbulent would be the understatement of the century. Aside from car repairs, plumbing repairs, and several other things that needed attending to, our daughter also gave birth to her first child (a boy) at the beginning of April and it was a complicated affair that required a three-week stay in the hospital NICU.
Mother and child are home now and doing much better.
But I digress. Time to have a look at my progress:
So far, only progressing slowly towards my HP goal, and my EDSI token goal was pretty much at a standstill in April.
Of course, when you have no to little time to write new posts, that's not so surprising!
On the upside, and few of the other second layer tokens are growing pretty well and getting closer to their goal numbers. It all adds up, in the long run!
The Risk of Lacking Liquidity
I suddenly had a bit of a sinking feeling yesterday when I noticed that the EDSI token had disappeared out of my top listings on Hive-Engine… and I found it near the bottom instead, with a valuation of only a fraction of a cent per token.
I guess that is just what happens when somebody decides to liquidate their holdings and there is not enough liquidity to absorb the sale.
For me, that has always been one of the risks associated with investing in anything on hive second layer: most of these tokens are so thinly traded that even if they have some value on paper it's almost impossible to actually get that value out because there's nobody standing by ready to buy.
