What a day.
It is 11:48pm and I cannot tell you how excited I am to lay my head down to SLEEP tonight. As soon as I post this... I'm off! hehehe
As for this post - I'm not going to focus on the insanity that occurred TODAY.
Tomorrow is going to be dedicated to THAT.
I am so unbelievably thankful and if I try to express all of that in this post.... I will do it now justice
So... tomorrow for that!
@SNOOK asked us all to do something today (but I think this amazing idea should have a longer deadline than 24 hours lol like I said...I'm definitely coming back tomorrow to do it again hahhaa!!)
You need to go do this.... If you don't . You will simply miss out!
I made TWO people smile today 😄😄
But what I really want to do is shine the light on someone who started MY DAY off with huge smiles and tons of laughter for an hour as soon as I woke up!
I met @dutybound back in 2018. The details of how we met are too long to share, but how our friendship developed made a huge impact on my life.
He's an amazing artist.
He read my book and loved it so much that he was inspired to create the cover art for it. This is how amazing it turned out!
I seriously wanted to cry when I saw it. It made the story come to life in new ways for me.
But that wasn't the end, he continued amazing me. He made the second and it was exactly what I wanted again. If you have ever worked with an artist, you know how hard it is for them to get inside your mind. @dutybound is one that I've been blessed to work with that goes beyond what I see or imagine. It's incredible!
And then Steem died...
and life happened and we sorta lost touch with each other. Not really, but sorta. Haha
He would check up on me and ask about the third book, but the author of that book!!! ....hahaha, well, she hit a bit of a block. I couldn't figure out the way to end the trilogy. I wanted to! But I just couldn't get my characters to speak to me. They ALWAYS speak to me! And they were just deciding to be super silent.
Then today happened...
Out of the blue, I got a message. Dennis filled my messenger with lots of giggles and joy as he updated me on his life, and his family and all the good things you hope for people.
He was sharing things, and then SHOCKED me by casually mentioning something I never knew. He lightly shared about how he was colorblind. WHAT!!?!? 🤯
An artist that produced THOSE images up there for me that can't see color like I do??? But made them EXACTLY the way I wanted?!?! 😍
It's like Beethoven composing beautiful music, though his hearing was impaired! Ok maybe not exactly like that hahahaha but I was in awe!!! I never knew. But now that I did, his artistic gift was made ever more special to me.
The best and final gift of the day
He shared what he was doing lately, and I hopped onto his Instagram for a peek. What I saw took my breath away.
My character Talia, was staring back at me from his art. It wasn't really her. It was art that he had created and felt for another project of his....but it was her. Slightly different, older, broken, depleted - but it was her. I knew her spirit. And then she whispered to me. She whispered that she had more to tell. She wanted to share the end of the book to me. 😊
And I can't wait to hear what she has to say.
I can't express to you what you did for me today, Dennis. I am so beyond blessed.
