So a recent blog Improving curation - Identifying plagiarism
by @vempromundo pointed to a plagiarism site where we could check if posts are being plagiarised... but how often are alot of us going to do it unless it looks really suss.
However what is we sponsored a bot to automatically scan each blog and comment on how plagiarised it look (%) and point us at the site(s) it came from? That way we could each make a judgement call and act accordingly.
The reason I say judgement call is because as anyone who has submitted a paper can tell you sometimes you have to copy sections because your qouting or its just a really common phrase!
It also gives people a chance to correct and improve themselves if they have made an honest mistake
The bot could eventually even become self funded if we upvote it for a good job.
Don't known if its possible but what a great feature if we could get it working!
