The time off from most Hive activities I took while on vacation allowed me to detach and see some things clearer, with a wider and perhaps less routine-driven perspective.
Some things I already contemplated on for a pretty long time, but it was difficult to let go.
For example, I talked on-chain with @ph1102 at some point that I intended to slow down on my writing rhythm, so I can have time to focus other things as well, on and off Hive.
So... these things have been on my mind for a while.
Being a goal-oriented person, and having set for myself those social activities targets on Hive, I found it difficult to let go. That's why, my first intention was to apply this starting next year.
But things are moving fast these days. Opportunities come and go. And in enough ways, I felt stuck and certainly not moving fast enough. That became even more obvious once I started building Hive Portfolio tools, and when posting or tracking news for Week through Adrian's Lenses were many times in the way.
It took many, many hours weekly to read, understand, gather, filter, and write the 132 issues of Week through Adrian's Lenses, but it's time to stop. It was something I've done for Hive, and a little bit for myself to stay informed, but it didn't offer enough satisfaction, in any way I could think of it. There are other people producing similar type of content maybe in a more relaxed way, so Hive is not at a loss. Follow @steevc for his Follow Friday series, which has been longer than mine. I take this opportunity to thank him for his continued support and sharing of Week through Adrian's Lenses. @coldbeetrootsoup guys also have a weekly podcast with news about Hive. If any of you would like to become admins/mods of the Hive News community, let me know.
The other decision I've made is to stop writing weekly goals posts. I will keep tracking my goals in private (except the social goals, which as of today are no longer a main target of mine). I will likely still post when I reach important milestones or set new goals. But they won't be regular posts.
I will also not hold myself to write daily. I may write often, but also may not. I wouldn't expect any consistency in this regard.
What I will likely continue to do on Hive daily (with exceptions)?
- curate
- maybe comment here and there
- manage investments
- play games
- looks like... developing tools, with AI help, may be a direction too (I've enjoyed tinkering with Hive Portfolio tools, which I will likely continue developing, if for nothing else, for my own use)
- etc.? (still undetermined/undiscovered)
Overall, I expect and hope to free up some time which I can use more productively or sometimes more pleasantly in different ways, both on and off Hive, both on and offline.
I think of it more like a serious adjustment of priorities, which is very important for me at this time. See you around!
