It is known that the market (whether it is stocks or cryptocurrencies) reacts strongly to news. Over the past few months, we've tracked how much a mere Elon Musk comment impacted crypto prices. Although he commented only on Bitcoin, as there is a deep connection between the price of Bitcoin and the price of other currencies, when he said about Bitcoin, he ended up interfering with the quotation of all the others. A similar case occurred when the US president informed the world that he would inject nearly 2 TRILLION dollars with his stimulus package to the US economy, or more recently when the financial situation of the Chinese company Evergrande gained publicity. In both cases, exchanges around the world reacted immediately, increasing the already existing oscillation.
I believe the market is made up of various classes of people, but to illustrate today's topic, I'm going to divide it into two big groups. In the first group are the large investment funds and the most qualified investors, who study the market a lot and do not make big moves without a good strategy. In the second group, which is the target of today's text, are investors who act on pure impulse. These investors buy on cues from digital influencers, because they see news in the newspaper, or simply see a big swing in the market.
There are many reasons that lead people to enter the market and fit into this second large group, but I believe the main one is greed. The promise of quick and easy money is still widespread and ends up attracting millions of people to the market. In short, to get out of this second group, a person needs to understand the psychological factor of market agents and the need for continuous education.
There's not much to go into about instruction, it's basically studying until the attitudes taken before the operations are carried out have a rational explanation (although there is no certainty in the markets, especially in the short term). As for the psychological factor, I believe that there are some measures that should be taken to avoid desperate operations in a moment of great fluctuation. The measure that I think is the main step towards greater psychological control at these times is the existence of a good emergency reserve. Money allocated in a place with liquidity and security, which sustains your expenses for at least 6 months, is of great value to any investor (obviously I'm not talking about people with multiple sources of income, with rich families, etc.).
I have been operating for a short time, I started my studies and my practice in 2019, just over 2 years ago. Right after I started, I saw my invested capital literally melt 50% in the Brazilian stock market. Having a good job and a good emergency reserve helped me A LOT not to sell my assets desperately and abandon my initial planning, as many people did. With that, I continued my regular shopping and took advantage of great opportunities, which made me come out of the red much sooner than expected.

O fator psicológico não deve ser ignorado nos investimentos!
É sabido que o mercado (seja ele acionário ou de criptomoedas) reage de forma muito contundente às notícias. Nos últimos meses, nós acompanhamos o quanto um mero comentário do Elon Musk impactava os preços das criptos. Embora ele comentasse apenas sobre o Bitcoin, como há uma profunda ligação entre o preço de Bitcoin e o preço das demais moedas, ao dizer sobre o Bitcoin, ele acabava interferindo na cotação de todas as outras. Caso semelhante ocorreu quando o presidente dos EUA informou ao mundo que iria injetar quase 2 TRILHÕES de dólares com o seu pacote de estímulos para a economia norte americana, ou mais recentemente quando o a situação financeira da empresa chinesa Evergrande ganhou publicidade. Em ambos os casos, as bolsas pelo mundo reagiram imediatamente, aumentando a oscilação já existente.
Acredito que o mercado seja composto de várias classes de pessoas, mas, para ilustrar o assunto de hoje, vou dividi-lo em dois grandes grupos. No primeiro grupo se encontram os grandes fundos de investimento e os investidores mais qualificados, que estudam muito o mercado e não fazem grandes movimentos sem uma boa estratégia. No segundo grupo, que é o alvo do texto de hoje, estão os investidores que agem por puro impulso. Esses investidores compram por indicações de influenciadores digitais, por verem notícias no jornal ou por simplesmente verem uma grande oscilação no mercado.
Muitas são as razões que levam as pessoas a entrarem no mercado e se encaixarem nesse segundo grande grupo, mas creio que a principal delas é a ganancia. A promessa de dinheiro fácil e rápido ainda é bastante difundida e acaba atraindo milhões de pessoas para o mercado. De forma bastante resumida, para sair desse segundo grupo a pessoa precisa entender o fator psicológico dos agentes no mercado e a necessidade de instrução contínua.
Sobre instrução não há muito que detalhar, é basicamente estudar até que as atitudes tomadas antes das operações feitas tenham uma explicação racional (por mais que não haja certezas nos mercados, principalmente no curto prazo). Já sobre o fator psicológico, acredito que haja algumas medidas que devam ser adotadas para evitar operações desesperadas em um momento de grande oscilação. A medida que eu julgo ser a principal para um maior controle psicológico nesses momentos é a existência de uma boa reserva de emergência. Um dinheiro alocado em um local com liquidez e segurança, que sustente seus gastos por no mínimo 6 meses, é de grande valia para qualquer investidor (obviamente não estou falando de pessoas com múltiplas fontes de renda, com famílias ricas, etc).
Eu opero há pouco tempo, iniciei meus estudos e minha prática em 2019, faz pouco mais de 2 anos. Logo após meu início, vi meu capital investido literalmente derreter 50% na bolsa brasileira. Ter um bom emprego e uma boa reserva de emergência me ajudaram MUITO a não vender meus ativos desesperadamente e abandonar meu planejamento inicial, como muitas pessoas fizeram. Com isso, continuei minhas compras regulares e aproveitei ótimas oportunidades, o que me fez sair do vermelho bem antes do que o esperado.
