Did I swipe my phone screen down, Yes, why? To check the date. Nov. 26. It says. I am so close to the end of November.
Why do I care about the number of days left before December?
I had a #HIVEBLOPOMO task right from the beginning of November, the goal was to publish at least one post for every day of the month. The only reason I swiped my phone down to check the date was that today, I feel so tired and nothing is coming to me no matter how hard I try. Seeing that I have 4 more days before the end of November to congratulate myself for a job well done, I pushed harder to find some leftover inspiration.
By the way, I already have the pleasure of receiving notifications on Mondays by @hivebuzz telling me that I have been a busy bee. I love this notification more than anything else. It makes me cheer myself up and promise to do it again the next week. I have pushed, pulled, and still going. I won't stop now, no way.
It doesn't matter if my motivation has waned, it hasn't, it just needs a little push. It doesn't matter if my fingers hurt like hell, for marathon commenting on this week's reader's contest entries, written by all the amazing hive bibliophiles.
It doesn't matter if my body wants to turn into a sloth. I am not going to give in to this laziness.
Wait, did you see the word sloth?
Look again. I just learned about it today. Yes, as a result of looking for stuff to write about, I decided to check out the #pob-wotw word of the week. I was hoping I will get an angle there. I found the word sloth very interesting among the listed word of the week, and I googled the meaning. Although I couldn't think of what to write around it, here I am using the word... Isn't that Cool?
Does slothfulness add any value to humanity?
I think I'll consider it. The fact that I can be very lazy on my own makes me consider having a natural sloth could be useful. Oh yes, I remember.
I watched a movie once, I don't remember what the name was, all I remember is a young guy. This guy never liked doing any other thing apart from lazying around, playing video games.
His parents (I still don't recall if it was a single parent or both) always nagged him to get out and get a job or do something useful with his life. Everything fell on deaf ears. In this instance, anyone would fume and get angry over the slothfulness of this guy. And they would be right.
This is because, before the advent of cryptocurrency and crypto games, I don't think there has been any usefulness for playing video games; unless to make the developers rich, while the individual wastes quality time playing. So the world would be right to nag this guy for sitting around his computer all day, playing games.
The movie had a different turn of events when this guy was invited to play a certain video game to save the world. Forgive me I still don't recall most of the scenes, only the lessons never left me. The fact that he mastered different games made him able to accomplish that tasks. I never truly forget the lessons in this movie because, at times when I am lazying, doing irrational acts, I find solace in that movie, always thinking, there is a good reason for every bad thing. In my language, it is said, "the bad guy has used" This means even though something is bad, it has its good times or there will be a good use for it.
This is one of the ways I figured, being a sloth is helpful to humanity. Those lousy things we do whenever we are lazy could translate into more positive outcomes if channeled appropriately.
Is there a bad side to sloth?
Yes, everyone knows this. Laziness dulls our minds. Our brains and body need to be constantly fed with an activity to put it to work. If not, I think we will slowly die, I have no proof though. The darker side to sloth then would be how it makes us wither as dead leaves.
PS: the fact that I was being lazy about writing today gave me this post. See? Another usefulness for sloth ....smiles 😊
