It's been a while now since I've tried my hand at some black-and-white photos.
And although some photos are beautiful in black-and-white, some photos just need to stay in color...in my opinion.
But something else I've noticed is how the whole atmosphere can change and a whole different illusion can be created by taking a color photo and changing it to a black-and-white.
Please do me a favor...only scroll down one photo at a time until you can see what I mean.
First, I'll start with a photo that I just cannot see in black and white.
This photo was taken on the beach at Winkle Spruit (yes, @tattoodjay ...the beach with your favorite name...lol) on the same day as the ones I have shared in my post yesterday.
I got some help from Google to get this photo. It's a panoramic view that was created from the other photos I have taken.
Now, the next photo was taken from our house on Sunday afternoon. The most beautiful cloud made its appearance late in the afternoon. But first, only scroll down to see it in black and white...
Some serious weather on the way...?
No. Now take a look at the photo as it was intended to be. The photo was taken with my cell phone. I was eager to capture the colorful reflection of the sunset on this cloud. I thought it might change by the time I got the camera out, so I just took a snapshot with the cellphone.
In my opinion, the black-and-photo really doesn't do it any justice. But I just played around to see what happens if I make it black and white...and wow...something totally different...or maybe it was just my imagination that was over-active...lol.
The rest of my photos are all black-and-white photos. I selected these photos from the recent photos I have taken.
The first ones were taken in October when we paid a visit to "horsey country", Summerveld.
The first photo is of the road passing in front of the Jockey Club.
In the next photo, these horses are just having a good time at the Jockey Academy.
Moving on, we saw this peaceful scene outside some private stables. And this was really an overcast, misty day...no "black-and-white" illusions here...lol.
The next photo was taken on the same day. As we left Summerveld, we went to the 1000 Hills Chef School for a late breakfast.
I took this photo from outside the Chef School.
The next two photos were taken on a recent visit to the beach in Umhlanga Rocks.
This photo was taken from the promenade, overlooking the southern part of the beach which is not a swimming area.
Standing at the same spot, I just turned and took the next photo of the Umhlanga Rocks Lighthouse.
And that's it for today.
Thank you for reading my post. I do appreciate it.
