Record in laser communication of the psyche probe

NASA has managed to send a laser message emitted from 16 million kilometers, it is a record, the message was sent by the Psyche probe, this probe travels towards the famous giant asteroid of the same name, which is an asteroid with 210 km in diameter, What is famous is because this asteroid is basically composed of metals and when I talk about metals in space we are basically talking about iron, but it must also have large reserves of gold, silver and other valuable metals.

Although at the moment it is only a speculation, perhaps all these metals are buried under a crust of dust and rocks more than 1 km thick, which would complicate the exploration of these mining resources. We will know when the Probe reaches this asteroid in the year 2029. and perhaps we will know it thanks to the laser communication that they are currently testing.

This experiment, according to NASA technicians, could transform the way in which spacecraft communicate with the Earth. What NASA technicians have done was that the Probe, which is now more than 16 million kilometers away, is is 41 times the distance that separates the earth from the moon, the spacecraft sent a message with data about the position in which it was located and that message arrived 53 seconds later at the Hale telescope at the Palomar observatory at Caltech of the California Institute of Technology.

This is the furthest demonstration of optical communications ever made, a record.
