From the beginning of this day, l got caught up in some Hive Engine issues which l believe, needed more brainwork than hard work. I ended up applying both brainwork and hard-work. You can imagine!
This was kinda unexpected. I believed that I'm no longer a newbie in this area. Yeah, l just started using the Hive-Engine 7 weeks ago, but I've been an active explorer of all the fascinating features it possesses. I'm self-taught in that area and l never had an issue with any transaction till today. So, you can only imagine how l felt to get unending error messages while trying to perform a mini transaction, it came as a surprise.
I was all set to get to the root of the whole drama. After all, it's just about using my phone to do what needs to be done. My plan was simple, find out the issue and resolve it within the twinkle of an eye. Simple, eh? Not so simple.
I had to look for ways to tweak some stuff to finish what l started.
A lot of trial and error followed suit and l met a lot of dead ends in my vain attempt to get it resolved. Vain? Yeah, it was filled with vain attempts because almost everything l tried was not yielding desired results. I even had to reach out to people in discord channels and l got nice tips from them about how to tweak some things via varieties of browsers.
I also had to be in DM with some devs. By the end of the day, l realized what went wrong. Turns out that the recent upgrade in Hivesigner led to some sort of conflict. It took a while, maybe longer than a while, but l was able to scream ' Eureka' later this afternoon. I got to breathe a sigh of relief.
I did my transaction, albeit taking longer than expected.
What did l learn from this unconventional day?
Now that I'm thinking about the whole thing that happened today, l must say that it chewed up a lot of time but was worth the thrill. These are the things l learned from my rather unconventional day?
1. There is more to hive than writing and publishing:
This is something I've known since day-1 but today's incident strengthened my resolve. It's pretty cool to write posts, publish them and earn mouth-watering rewards for a job well done. That's one of the good things about being here. Your content gets exposed to the right audience and you stand an equal chance with every other person to earn from your content.
What would be the case when your writing ink goes on break? What if you are not in the right mood to write? Is that the end?
Nope... If earning is the target, you can earn by curating in various communities of your choice. Some of these communities have their tokens - POB, LEO, BUILT, etc. You can lay your hands on the ones you like and curate quality contents in such communities. You can't possibly lose out while curating, it's a win-win situation. When the chips are down, you will only realize that everything helps to promote hive blockchain.
2. Brainwork also requires hard work:
This is something that I've never given deep thought to before. I often categorised bankers, business managers, tech guys, and likes as people that earn without necessarily working hard enough.
You must have seen these guys in action. The bank guy seats in his well-ventilated cubicle to count cash all day while a business manager wears suit to work only to seat in boring meetings and later go out for lunch with top clients. The only people l saw as the real hard workers were roadside mechanics, farmers, and others that work under the sun and in the rain.
How wrong of me to think in that manner?
Ever since l finished my national youth service, I've been very busy with a lot of things in the virtual world. The learning, earning and Interaction has made me a better me. I'm yet to take up a job and l know that many people would call me 'unemployed' by Nigerian standard, but l know pretty much that my brain is always at work.
To all Hivers, I want to remind you that you are hard-working. Always have it at the back of your mind.
3. Perseverance is an important life hack in all walks of life:
If not because I'm always seeing myself as someone with thick skin when it comes to dealing with challenges, l wouldn't have been able to create a hive account. It's as simple as that.
Nothing is easy. We've got to pass through layers of trials and error before getting what we want but it's all good. One of the things I've learnt in life is to show perseverance in everything I'm doing. The process is as important as the result and I'm interested in taking the necessary steps so that I can look back at days like these and be proud that l persevered.
Well well well, today was one heck of a day and it's not just about my adventurous encounter in Hive Engine.
A ton of activities preoccupied me today and my sincere apology goes to all those that left a comment in this post Ever heard of Yahoo boys? Their pleasure is our pain, but we don't admit it. The post is almost a day old and I'm yet to reply to any comment there.
I love the comment section so much and l can't wait to read all the fabulous comments there. Do well to visit that post and add your comment. I would be knocking myself out with commenting tonight 😂.
Okay, not yet. I need to eat dinner, wash up and bounce back to have a blast with everyone. Don't miss the thrill.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma
