Everyone says how important it is for us to show perseverance during hard times.
I know that I have said similar stuff to a great number of people and I try as much as possible to remind them that difficulties will not last forever.
Life is hard, Kene knows it. Life is also unpredictable. We can meet obstacles en route to success. It's normal and no one is exempted from this. I also try to say this to myself whenever I'm stuck at any stage in my life. When inconveniences come, the best thing we can do is to remind ourselves that nothing lasts forever.
I have experienced difficulties across all levels starting from my childhood to a more complex perspective.
My childhood is the toughest phase of my life. A whole lot of people knows what it's like to grow under the eagle eyes of a typical African parent. The spanking and hot slaps and co. Well, that's my Dad for you. He would stop at nothing to prove that he is a disciplinarian. Being a uniformed security operative in Nigerian Police force makes it worse.
I often, found it hard to understand his style of love. Tough love is what it is and he gives it in full dose. My childhood experience remains the highlight of all difficulties I have experienced. It was until 2019 that I got to rid myself of the negatives attached to his style of training.
Having an extra year in Uni is another account of the difficulty that I have experienced. It was like wasting a whole year of my life. That's how it felt in the beginning. I felt defeated and the worst part is that I knew that there is no way to reverse what was going on.
In all the difficulties I've faced and the ones I'm still facing, I usually find solace by reminding myself that, "all difficulties shall come to an end as far as I show perseverance".
I suggest you do the same when the going gets tough. Remind yourself that "this too shall pass". It's good for your general well-being.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma
