First things first, a good chip is important and I think in SA we have a pretty ok selection. Although the tendency is to move towards rather oily styles of crisps so by now I have excluded any Simba or Lays options or really anything "crinkle cut" , "baked" or whatever bullshit hipster new type there may be.
If all else fails a good chip fallback is Popcorn and since they have all decided Salt & Vinegar is apparently evil yet keep pushing bland cheese, lightly salted, and something that is supposed to have flavour like chutney but is devoid of any unless you after taste; You will need Salt & Vinegar shake. No ifs ands or buts.
Then Doritos finally used the singular braincell of the masses and came out with "Flamin Hot" , they already have the blue packet something peppers or whatnot but it is quite mellow and can become bland and yet still has more flavour than all the other nasty chips.

Anyway, Flamin Hot Doritos has the burn, the kinda burn you can get from a good Salt & Vinegar coated popcorn without the chemical peel and you should be able to taste things again within the hour.
They also started making a masala-flavoured one and slapped the Flamin Hot on it but I am not sure what kinda bitch move that was because nothing about Masala has anything to do with flavour let alone hot flavour. Might as well lick mud with pepper in it.
Although, Doritos can be pricey and really I only get a pack or two over weekend when I have no intention of eating or if I just have a bit of a hankering.
Not that cost is such a biggy but options can be, and in the Hot Chip market there are not many.
I have also always liked Big Korn bites which is a similar maize thingamajig as Doritos and actually their Tomato flavour chips are always nice if you don't mind feeling a bit greasy even though I think it has less oil in than any of the mainstream hipster crap.

Big Korn Bites has stepped up though and at almost half the cost of Doritos is now making "Ghost Pepper". Maybe they are trying to save money but not having the nice dusting of spice on theirs but the burn is definitely top-tier. The main difference is the satisfying spicy flavour you get from Doritos likely from a higher citric concentration has been replaced with a - wait for it - wait for it - fuck that has some bite.
Which I will take any day. It is also not all-consuming, which is something I hate about people who tout hot things, I like to not be able to taste my food just as much as the next person but I would like it more if I could taste the chilli I am using too.
Anyway, that was a lot about chips, you can pair that with some Nancy Drew. I am about halfway in the first season and it is not as shit as I expected. I blame Riverdale for that. I have seen Riverdales cover and am 99% certain it is absolute millennial trash, or whatever the mental illness generation is. Sadly Nancy whose books I really enjoyed got lumped into that by association. I am rectifying this oversight though.
While Nancy is catching baddies on screen I have also figured out some of the absurd issues I have been having with the L-System generator from a previous post.
P5.js the library I am using has a very topsy turvy coordinate system but worse than that they have absolutely no concept of "objects". Well they may for simple shapes but if you were to draw a thing without knowing what the final dimensions will be you can't just say "Hey dickhead, what size are all these pieces together?" then proceed to scale it up or down and twirl it the fuck around.
Nope. So the obvious problem with generating a bunch of random angled lines is, I don't bloody know where they will go. So I solved that by pre-drawing it then logging my own coordinates and calculating the final width from there and applying it to the main drawing all just so I can center a thing.
Ok so that works for full scale... Maybe I could just predraw it at a small scale and center a big thing on a small screen...I don't know what the big or small scale is or the diff unless I predraw the big one...then oh cool I can see to fit the biggest part on screen hmmm or the smallest...Honestly I don't bloody know why that bit works...
Anyway so a lot of manual tracking and countering of a very bothersome coordinate system with a library that seems to enjoy thinking a person always knows the exact X or Y and size of any one line on screen and does not mind just cutting things off.
Although I will probably rewrite it in PIXI.js because it likely has a better concept of size and position since it is a 2D centric renderer.
Now for interest sake this post will look like this inside the system up to this point of text including all urls.
