Today I am grateful to be alive and thriving and in a position to pay forward, through my monthly contest, the kindness, and goodwill that I have received and still receive on Hive and its wonderful communities today.
With that, the 4th edition of my monthly contest to pay it forward to newbies on Hive (little red fish as we are called haha) has come to a close.
There were 5 active participants in the contest and a further 8 contestants who gained entry through nomination, bringing the total number of different entrants to 13 😊
As always, there were ways to gain additional entries to the contest, and this month it was through tagging additional newbies on Hive and sharing a post of theirs that you enjoyed. We ended up with 22 entries altogether with the total number of entries gained by each person being as follows:

The Drawing and the Prizes:
This month I have to, first of all, say thank you to @penderis for his generous sponsorship of the DEC prizes. These can be used in Splinterlands to make purchases, rent cards or simply be held to earn SPS tokens in the airdrop on Splinterlands that continues on a daily basis for a year. There are still over 200 days of airdrops to go. Of course, if you don't use DEC, don't want to take part in the SPS airdrop or don't play Splinterlands, you may sell the tokens on Hive-Engine. I have been buying DEC myself and holding it on Splinterlands in order to avail of the airdrops. I intend to keep buying so as to increase my daily airdrop value to, so this is maybe something you may want to do as an option ...NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE 😜 Just some ideas on what you can do with DEC if you are new to the token.
I also need to say a big thank you to @failingforwards who is also a curator for the new 1UP gaming focussed community here on Hive for the kind and generous offer of additional delegation prizes to the 3 NEW Hivers who are drawn 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The delegation comes from @failingforwards personally and will be handled directly by them. The prize allocation was split into 3 prizes for the top 3 newcomers drawn in the randomised draw (who started on Hive 1st August 2021 or later) and a 4th prize for the highest drawn pre- 1st August 2021 Hivian. Although you can gain multiple entries to the draw, you are always restricted to winning one prize only.

We only had ONE entry from a Hivian who was 'NOT a newcomer' and that person is @merit.ahama (who is on fire in Hive contests at the moment!) who by default takes home the prize for the highest placed entrant who is NOT a new Hiver.
