The PARADOX of Money - We can't live without money but money is the reason for the greatest sorrows.
I would like to explain the meaning of this word, paradox, giving an example of something we all can easily relate to.
Every day we work so hard to do better and better, with an aim of earning a better living for our family. We struggle, we fight, we fail, and then stand again to make a good earning. We give up our sleep, we miss family functions, we miss that first smile of our baby just to ensure we don't lose a chance to earn money. Sometimes we don't even celebrate anniversaries and birthdays because we can't lose a day. It's a rat race; we all are running behind money like it's the greatest power believing this is the pursuit of happiness. But is that really true?
The paradox here is that while we are struggling so hard to earn a good living, we are giving up on things that actually can be fulfilled by money and what we call real happiness. We take trips, we eat good food, we laugh with our kids and family and that is what makes us happy. But in the race to earn more, we don't get time for all these things. So basically even when we have shit loads of money, we will not be happy because we have missed out on all those things that bring a smile to our face and joy to our heart.
And apparently, there's no end to it. The more you earn, the more you want, and then it's a never-ending cycle.
If you have noticed, the happiest society is the middle class one who has a limited earning, don't take international trips, don't go to five-star restaurants, don't drive Mercedes, and don't wear solitaires. These people have time to eat gol gappas with their family, watch a movie, go for a long walk, play cricket and ludo with their kids, and laugh with their parents.
The great Ambanis and Gates of the world look really happy in the newspapers and what really goes behind those papers is something we never wish for.
I hope I have explained the meaning of the word PARADOX well and also conveyed a message to my family here which can help them lead a happy life.
