Delegation never hurts! And this theme is quite easy for us residents of Brazil, why do we live here a giant wheel of emotions, or is it a roller coaster?
The things I like most about my country are:
Its exuberant nature, rich in tropical vegetation and that undergo an absurd variation of species, I am a person who traveled a little unfortunately, so I can’t imagine what it’s like to personally walk in the forests of the Northeast, but my region that is of Atlantic forest is wonderful, full of centennial trees, vines, dense leafy trees, wild animals like capybaras, and even a few rare maned wolves in some more remote regions. There are countless delicious fruits that are native, and I wonder what the experience of diving in the middle of a trail in the Amazon must be like, which is bigger than the state in which I live entirely made of forests.
Brazilian culture is incredible, primarily because it is not just one. There are complete variations and differences from one extreme to the other in Brazil, whether due to the change in the climate itself, the immigration of those who inhabited that region or the habits of the people who live there today! Whether in culinary, social, musical or artistic terms, Brazilian culture is imprinted in our blood and in every movement that takes place here.
Another great advantage is our freedom. I can't say how free we are, but what I do know is that there are countries that are much more rigorous than Brazil, and we have a good quality of social and personal rights.
I always see that catchphrase from the Americans: -We are in a free country! And I don't know exactly in what sense they mean it, whether they are more free than we are or not. But, what I do know, is that freedom here is very real.Peace. It seems surreal to have to put peace as a qualitative point, why it should be something natural and basic for all of humanity. But that doesn't seem to be the case, is it? I am tired of seeing how arduous people's lives must be in the Middle East, and perhaps even worse in other parts of the world. And of course, I do not believe that we are at peace here. Brazil lives a terrible moment of pain and death due to the virus, and there are also many social problems of violence in some places, such as in Rio de Janeiro, but still, comparing as a whole, some cities and regions of the country (like the state where I live) do not know what war is or something like that, and thank you very much for that.

And the things that DON'T I like in my country:
Something that has been bothering me for a long time is the total lack of incentive in science. It has become routine to see a lack of scientific incentive on the part of the government to scientific studies, to the advancement of research in numerous areas, to cut funds for science as a whole, which definitely puts us in deficit of one of the most powerful tools of the human being: his knowledge. It is a pity that we cannot be a pole of innovation and advancement in health, for example, simply because of the mistakes of a government governed by ignorance.
The second point is exactly the government that rules us, it is no longer a novelty anywhere in the world that we are experiencing a very sad situation of compulsive ignorance by a megalomaniacal president. I’ve always been a very lucid person in political terms and I’ve never been blindly in love with any direction, be it left or right, but, we definitely had a destruction of the concept of political right in the current term of the president and his worldview has completely corrupted countless opportunities for Brazil to grow and change.
And finally, another very sad point in my country is social inequality, which has very severe levels when viewed in view of its size. And this is even perceptive even in small samples, as in my state for example, which is a more balanced and relatively "rich" state, but still, we see people below the poverty line. The lack of basic education is one of the strongest reasons for this disconnection. I believe that it will take many years for everyone to improve their social status, and of course, I spoke of extreme poverty, but even an example of lower middle class like mine, we see how long we live to pay bills and work compulsively, our money it is worthless and this is one of the biggest causes of this instability, I believe.

Delegação nunca é demais! E esse tema é bastante fácil para nós moradores do Brasil, por que aqui vivemos uma roda gigante de emoções, ou seria montanha russa?
As coisas que mais gosto do meu país são:
Sua natureza exuberante, rica em vegetações tropicais e que passam por uma variação de espécies absurda, eu sou uma pessoa que viajou pouco infelizmente, então nem imagino como é pessoalmente andar nas matas do nordeste, mas a minha região que é de mata atlântica é maravilhosa, repleta de árvores centenárias, cipós, densas arvores frondosas, animais silvestres como as capivaras, e até mesmo alguns raros lobos guarás em algumas regiões mais afastadas. Existem inúmeras frutas deliciosas que são nativas, e fico imaginando como deve ser a experiência de mergulhar no meio de uma trilha na amazônia, que é maior que o estado em que moro inteiramente feita de florestas.
A cultura brasileira é incrível, primeiramente por que não é uma só. Existem variações e diferenças completas de um extremo ao outro do Brasil, seja pela mudança do próprio clima, pela imigração de quem povoou aquela região ou pelos hábitos do povo que ali habita hoje em dia! Seja em termos culinários, sociais, musicais ou artísticos, a cultura brasileira está impressa em nosso sangue e em cada movimento que se faz por aqui.
Outra grande vantagem é nossa liberdade. Não sei dizer o quão livre somos, mas o que sei é que existem países muito mais rigorosos que o Brasil, e temos uma boa qualidade de direitos sociais e pessoais. Sempre vejo aquela frase de efeito dos americanos: -Estamos em um país livre! E eu não sei exatamente em que sentido eles querem dizer isso, se são mais livres que nós ou não. Mas, o que sei, é que a liberdade por aqui é bastante real.
Paz. Chega a parecer surreal ter de colocar paz como um ponto qualitativo, por que deveria ser algo natural e básico para toda a humanidade. Mas parece que não é o que acontece, não é mesmo? Estou cansado de ver o quão árdua deve ser a vida das pessoas no oriente médio, e talvez ainda pior em outras partes do mundo. E claro, não acredito que estamos em paz aqui. O Brasil vive um momento terrível de dor e morte pelo virus, e também tem muitos problemas sociais de violência em alguns pontos, como no Rio de Janeiro, mas, ainda assim, comparando como um todo, algumas cidades e regiões do país (como o estado em que moro) não sabem o que é guerra ou coisa do tipo, e agradeço muito por isso.

E das coisas que NÃO gosto no meu país:
Algo que tem me incomodado muito já faz um tempo é a total falta de incentivo na ciência. Já virou rotina vermos uma falta de incentivo científico por parte do governo aos estudos científicos, ao avanço das pesquisas de inúmeras áreas, corte de verbas para a ciência como um todo, o que definitivamente nos põe em déficit de uma das ferramentas mais poderosas do ser humano: seu conhecimento. É uma pena que não possamos ser um polo de inovação e avanço na saúde por exemplo, simplesmente por erros de um governo regido por ignorância.
O segundo ponto é exatamente o governo que nos rege, já não é novidade em parte alguma do mundo que estamos vivendo uma situação bastante triste de ignorância compulsiva de um presidente megalomaníaco. Eu sempre fui uma pessoa bastante lúcida em termos políticos e nunca me apaixonei cegamente por direção alguma, seja esquerda ou direita, mas, definitivamente tivemos uma destruição do conceito de direita-política no atual mandato do presidente e sua visão de mundo corrompeu completamente inúmeras oportunidades do Brasil crescer e mudar.
- E por fim, outro ponto muito triste de meu país é a desigualdade social que tem níveis bastante severos quando observada diante de seu tamanho. E isso inclusive é perceptivo mesmo em pequenas amostragens, como em meu estado por exemplo, que é um estado mais equilibrado e relativamente "rico", mas ainda assim, vemos pessoas abaixo da linha da pobreza. A falta da educação básica é um dos motivos ainda mais fortes para essa desconexão. Acredito que ainda serão necessários muitos anos para que todos melhorem de nível social, e claro, falei da pobreza extrema, mas mesmo um exemplo de classe média baixa como o meu, vemos o quanto vivemos para pagar as contas e trabalhar compulsivamente, o nosso dinheiro não vale nada e isso é uma das maiores causas dessa instabilidade, acredito eu.
