My recent experience regarding the new naira notes redesign and scarcity of cash in my country taught me a big lesson of life that you can actually have money in the bank and you don't have access to it since you're not in charge. I watched many people suffer by queueing in the bank for their hard-earned money and the problem is that they won't be able to get the actual amount they want since it is the bank that decide for them including me.
And one thing, I noticed about some people in my country is too much of greediness. Yeah, I believe that not everyone have the strength and power to stand and queue at the ATM machine for a long time and that's where POS vendor come into rescue. Yeah, it is not easy queueing for that long time before collecting cash at the ATM machine and I believe it really worth it for you to earn a profit due to the stress you go through. Though that is the situation our government dragged us into. Imposing cashless policy overnight, that's arrant nonsense I understand, but we citizens especially the POS vendor should not used this situation as an opportunity eat ourselves off and blaming government for the situation.
Yeah! I understand that the government surely drag us in to this mess but it is better to pity ourselves instead of making things worse for ourselves. It is better we stop eating ourselves off and minimize the way we charge people for cash withdrawal. People are suffering on the streets and it's really hard for them to even have a single meal in a day. We can help ourselves by going easy ourselves. Imagine POS vendor charging 20% from the cash you're withdrawing, this is just an act of wickedness and greediness and the sooner we put an end to that.
