To this day, I've always pondered what makes men great. I’ve always asked, “What is the driving force behind the greatness of men?”
These questions keep bothering me every time. The world is filled with great men who have done remarkable things.
Sometimes, when I dwell on these unparalleled and spectacular things that the great men of our era have done, I wonder if they are humans at all.
In my own eyes, they seem unreal. “How did they figure it out?” I ask. What is that missing piece that shaped their life?
What was the force behind their breathtaking and revolutionary achievement? These questions always flow through my mind.
Media mogul, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey, in one of her famous speeches, shared the one secret behind eminent men. She believes that this secret is the one thing that determines the direction of our lives.
And it is “The energy of your intention.”
Of course, a person needs ability, discipline, hard work, consistency, grit, patience, mastery, and lots more to succeed, but all these things won’t come into play if you lack intention.
What is your why, and how strong is it?
The energy of your intention is what determines the direction of your life. Most people don’t think about why they want to do it. They just think about what they want to do. But, what’s gonna come back to you, is the real why, of why you did it.
Knowing the real reason behind what you’re doing gives you the backbone to go for it. Hence, Simon Sinek’s words ring bells when he said, “If we want to feel an undying passion for our work, if we want to feel we are contributing to something bigger than ourselves, we all need to find our WHY.”
After that, the “WHY” should be compelling enough to keep the fire burning in our hearts.
So, have you found your why yet? Take your time to think clearly and deeply about it. I still need to clarify my "why" from time to time.
It is a necessity.
“He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how” Friedrich Nietzsche
