In life, there is a concept that thrives in almost all fields of endeavor. This is what I would like to refer to as the "Early Starters Advantage [ESA]". The implication of this concept of ESA is that late starters in a system, be it a field of study, a business, or online systems/communities such as Hive, and much more, are unwittingly at a disadvantage as they have to struggle to gain relevance in a space where all the whales (early starters) have occupied the top position. Thus, it becomes a natural struggle to make it to the top. The #newbie initiative is designed to reduce this divide.
With this preamble, let's dive right into my post.

I am Chukwudi Ofurum (@zestimony), and I welcome you all to my newbie initiative post. Here, I will present my detailed understanding of the newbie initiative,

Why the Newbie Initiative?
The newbie initiative is designed to blur the line between newbies and "veterans" by providing needed training and guidance to help newcomers like me get the best out of Hive and grow their capabilities within the shortest possible time.
I understand that the newbie initiative is essentially an overloaded programme requiring some amount of time and dedication, and I am willing and ready to be part of this initiative.

How do I qualify?
To begin with, I have a reputation below 65 the current benchmark for application (my current reputation is 50) and I have a Hive Power of less than 500 (my current Hive Power is 126; 26 owned and 100 delegated).
I also intend to adjust my schedule to enable me to successfully start and complete the newbie initiative programme.

My Motivation for Joining the Initiative & How I Intend to Contribute
Undoubtedly, this initiative is designed to educate, and as someone with a knack for learning, it is only natural that I salvage all learning opportunities presented to me.
I hope to utilize my wealth of knowledge and experience as a content curator in my workplace and apply it not just to the learning experiences that will be presented to me in this initiative programme, but also to helping other newbies like me get to and beyond my own level of knowledge and skills (if given an opportunity).
