Hello everyone, it's been a while since we have posted. But we want to take this time to let you know of some changes that are happening in the world of Hivelist and the Hivecommerce token.
We have been running into issues with daily our daily payout bot, which ultimately led to the decision to take it offline and find a better way to distribute rewards to COM token stakeholders. So let's shed some light on the new change, which works out better in the long run for us and for you as stakeholders.
Monthly Airdrop vs Daily Drip
The biggest change is that instead of doing the daily drip as we were doing, we are going to do a monthly airdrop instead to those who stake a minimum of 500 COM tokens. This makes it a bit easier to handle as well as gives people an incentive to earn or buy some COM tokens and stake them up! It also helps with resource credits because any less than that and the dust isn't enough to really be worth clogging up Hive-Engine as we have been doing with the little dust payments to people that don't have much staked up.
The first of these monthly airdrops was done yesterday (Nov 3, 2024). It paid out 40 SWAP.HIVE in a stake weighted portion to 177 recipients each with at least 500 COM tokens staked in their wallet. There is a fee of 0.1 BEE per account paid and was provided by witness rewards from @thelogicaldude 's Hive-Engine witness. So if you have WORKERBEE staked up, go give him a vote!
How It's Done
This airdrop will be done using the Hive-Engine/Tribaldex Airdrop smart contract. At the end of the month, we will be doing a snap shot from the COM stakeholder richlist on the Hive-Engine block explorer. This info will be then taken into a spreadsheet, calculated for stake percentage, and payout amount, and saved as a CSV file to use in the airdrop smart contract.
Doing a monthly airdrop will also help us earn up more SWAP.HIVE over the course of the month to payout to holders. Lately it has been coming from LIST token sales into the LIST/SWAP.HIVE Diesel Pool (that pays out COM and LIST tokens for providing liquidity to). But we are going to be getting a bit more active on the posting and curation front to increase rewards and to bring some life back to the project overall.
More Updates Coming Soon
We are considering some new approaches to content and curation on Hive and will be making some more updates here soon on what this new approach will be. There is also a major change coming to the retail side of things, as well as the DEFI side, so stay tuned for more updates later on in the week. Some changes are to better benefit the community overall, and others are to make things easier on our end and simplify.
