happy fungi Friday friends. This post is my contribution to the #fungiFriday community By @ewkaw as well this is the entry to the @qurator hive top chef Duck.
This was the first time making a duck dinner in my life so I must thank Curator for the nudge to try it. I had to research on Google and learned a few things and got some ideas but wasn't satisfied with any particular recipe. I ended up making my own recipe according to what ingredients I found in the pantry and fridge.
I never tasted duck before so when I saw the discount price on duck wings and legs in the shop I thought ok why not just try it.
8 wings of duck
1 leg of duck
1 ts sage
1 ts thyme
1/2 garlic clove
2 green chilies
1 red onion
8 champignon mushrooms.
3 small carrots
salt and pepper to taste.
1 ts sweet soy sauce
2 ts chili vinegar
2 ts mushroom sauce
2 ts oil.
1 cooked potato
Sprinkle some salt and pepper on the duck pieces.
Warm the oil in a skillet.
Place duck pieces in the skillet and keep the medium heat.
Chop carrots
Garlic
Slice onion and place in another skillet/pan. add oil and cook it on lower heat.
After the onion gets translucent stir carrot to it.
Add chopped mushroom in and mix it well.
Add 1 ts sweet soya sauce, 2 ts chili vinegar, and 2 ts homemade mushroom sauce.blend it thoroughly in the vegetables.
Add sage and thyme. Cook for about 3-4 minutes.
Remove from the pan. meanwhile, keep checking the duck pieces. Turn them around and cook from both sides.
.
Spread the cooked vegetables carrot and mushrooms on top of the duck pieces.
Add 1 cup of water to the mixture and cook until duck pieces are tender. I add one cooked potato which I found in the fridge.
At this point taste it. if required add salt and black pepper to taste.
Dinner is ready
Served with rice.
Thank you.
Happy fungi Friday to you all.
