Namaste to all fungi hunters!
I am not a mushroom expert, although I love eating mushrooms, but only the ones available in the market. Last year, @ewkaw, the founder of this #FungiFriday initiative, while discussing the Horse Mushroom blog, explained that one should not trust mushrooms a hundred persent without being sure a 100%, especially when it comes to eating them in any form. And since then, I have become even more cautious about mushrooms.
I am telling you this because, according to Google lens, this shaggy parasol mushroom of today's blog is edible. Technically, I should believe it, but the problem is that when we search for this same name separately, we get to see many types of mushrooms of different shapes and colors. This is also normal because mushroom families are very wide but in mushrooms too, like humans, all the members of a family are not the same.
In fact, after a little research, I found out about an intruder in the family called False Parasol, which looks quite similar to Shaggy Parasol, but this one is poisonous and can cause severe gastrointestinal distress. So, if you don't know how to identify mushrooms, you shouldn't even think about eating them.
Well, I love taking photos of these cuties, and it doesn't require much knowledge. Lol!
I am most attracted to mushrooms that look unique, and this father-son duo was shining differently on the fresh green grass after the rain, which I could not ignore even if I wanted to.
That's it for today. Hope you liked this cute little father son duo. I don't know if it is edible or not, but I am sure the pro fungi hunters in this community will know, and hopefully they will share this information with us.
