The Stretch
The Northern Lights auto is now 6 weeks old and long.
The pot is getting visibly too small.
Up until now, the plant had access to enough nutrients, it seems.

The Substrate
I have to mention this every post it seems:
This is a 0 $ grow.
Most posts I read here and elsewhere at some point mention a long list like:
- Super Coco Puff Soil from MoneyGAINER
- Camel Hair Pellets Ultra from Special Store
- etc
It's all useless:
I grow in compost and clay.
Normal soil you can just pick up for free. Anywhere.
Outdoor
This plant is outside from day 4 in the Northern German spring.
It experienced temperatures below 5° Celsius, strong winds and 2 droughts, when I forgot to water the pot. Not to mention bugs.
The leaves are also covered in some pollen from a tree nearby.
All I fed it so far: water.

Potassium Boost
Now that the flowers start forming, cannabis benefits from a spike dose of potassium.
This, I can not achieve for 0$, but it will cost me 0.1$.
More about that next post.
But that isn't even necessary.
I grew out 2 plants in the exact same pots last year, with only adding water until the end and had an ok yield.

The Seedlings
One Quick One auto is doing fine.
One died.
In spring, after the soil laid dormant it might not be ideal to start seedlings in.
During the early stage, the plants are too fragile.
The high amounts of compost I use seem to create unpredictable conditions.
To make this easier, I'll switch to peat for the first 2 weeks, I think.

Water and Sun
All it takes is water and light.
The plant (and the soil) get most of the stuff they need from the air.
The substrate only provides stability, stores water, hosts life and finally provides some trace minerals to the plant.
With enough decayed organic material those minerals will be present.
And the life inside the soil will provide them to the plant.
Again: I only use a tiny dose of fertilizer -at the start of flowering- and only to kick start the famous Potassium Boost (tm) and because I grow in small pots.
Preview
After one of the Quick Ones died, I popped another 2 seeds.
I had almost forgot about them.
I had found them inside last season's crop.
So they are actually 0$-seeds and of kind of unknown variety.
They both have germinated, it seems... Looking forward to it :)
