Hello everyone!!! Today I will introduce to you a casual-style cafe in Hanoi city.
This cafe is called: "Lake View Coffee" - like its name suggests, this cafe-restaurant is located across from a lake.
I stopped by my university today, the covid pandemic has kept me at home for over a year and I really miss my university. I went to places near my university and brought back memories, and that's why I visited this place. In summer, this restaurant is very crowded because customers can drink coffee and enjoy the cool breeze from the lake. This cafe targets middle-aged customers and office workers, so the decoration of the cafe is quite simple but elegant. The space of "Lake View Coffee" is small but extremely warm that will make you forget the cold of winter. I went to this restaurant many times when I was in college but I didn't take pictures at that time. It was a hot and exhausting summer day, my house is about 35km away from my university so I couldn't return home at noon. At that time I was looking for certain eateries or restaurants that would allow me to stay there for 2-3 hours in the afternoon to rest. And this restaurant I visited many times at noon, I ordered some cool drinks and closed my eyes a bit there. I liked the airy space and gentle breeze of the lake, I felt the cool scent of flowers and plants, it was not stuffy like when I was in the air conditioner.
Unlike milk tea and lemon tea shops for young people, this cafe is quiet even though there are many people. I have seen people focus on working with their laptops, they are all mature and busy people. During my time here I have never seen students or children enter this cafe because it is quite boring for them. And I guess because of the restaurant drink menu, most of the young people don't want to come here. This cafe doesn't have milk tea or lemon tea (my favorite drinks). This cafe-restaurant only has drinks such as fruit yogurt, coffee, tea, ice cream, fruits, smoothies, or juices (which are healthy drinks). The price of a cup of coffee or drink here is from 25,000 VND - 50,000 VND, it's the average price compared to the quality of the drinks.
If you visit this restaurant in the early morning or noon, there will be famous Vietnamese dishes such as Pho chicken/ vermicelli chicken/ chicken noodles,.
It is quite easy to make drinks like these because my family opened a small cafe selling such drinks a few years ago. What impresses me most about this cafe is its scenery and service. I always like going to restaurants with friendly staff and owners with smiles and enthusiastic attitudes. It makes me feel comfortable and relaxed and I want to come again and again. For a restaurant with good drinks but terrible service, I will never go back. Recently in Vietnam, there are many noodle shops that are very crowded but crowded not because of good noodles or good service staff.. you will be surprised why it is crowded. The owners of those noodle shops are uncultured and cruel people, they always curse their customers. And that's why their noodle shop is so crowded, it's crazy. I guess a lot of people are curious about the swear words of the restaurant and they want to go there for the experience LOL. I have never been to such noodle shops because I don't want to lose money on those bad guys.
Anyway, my criteria to evaluate a good restaurant are service attitude, drink quality, restaurant space, restaurant's food hygiene, and drink prices. The only thing I don't like about this cafe is that they use ugly plastic cups for drinks 🙁 (it's ugly, I would have advised them to use nicer cups or paper cups.
If you go to Giao Luu City, Hanoi, then stop by this place.^^ highly recommend^^
