Today seemed like an exercise in futility!
It didn't really matter what I tried to do to work around each obstacle, things just seemed like they didn't want to happen. I've had days like this before and it's the worst kind of day to try anything intricate or creative as they tend to at best just flop, at worst go horribly, dangerously wrong.
Recently I wrote a post about not having weekends and that I need to start implementing some better discipline around when I work and when I don't. Set some parameters to structure my work day and keep it separate from everything else. The problem is that I'm the first person to tell others that they need a break and should be taking it easy, but I don't apply the same rules to my own life. Why? Because I'm an idjiot.

So today culminated in me being extremely unproductive while drinking a fooktoon of coffee. That's a new word for "a lot of". It now exists and there's nothing you can do about it.
A fooktoon of VANILLA coffee.
I bought this little jar a while ago and I was initially very excited about it. Two of my favourite flavours mixed together seemed like a brilliant idea and even though this coffee wasn't cheap like the usual instant coffee that I consume in large quantities, I figured I would fork out and splurge on myself a bit. When I first opened it, the vanilla aroma was really strong and I thought it might be a bit overpowering, but it wasn't really once it had been made into a cup of coffee.
To be totally honest, the first cup of this coffee didn't impress me all that much. The vanilla tones were there and they were distinct, but I just wasn't used to it as a coffee flavour and it was a bit disconcerting. The second cup was a lot better though and I used a little bit less coffee and a little bit more sugar and I figured that I just needed to find the sweet spot.

The third cup? Well the third cup made up for the fact that it was monday today - the whole freaking day!
I added some vanilla ice cream to top it off with just the right amount of vanilla everything and of course chocolate vermicilli because why not. Maybe it was psychosomatic, maybe it was just that there's only so much Monday I can muster. Either way, that third cup was just "hmmmmm hmmm hmmm" good!
Thanks Monday, you've done your job of being a royal pain in the behind - now you can pack yourself away until next week.
