When asked for his definition of paradise, Johnny Cash replied
"This morning, with her, having coffee"
So although not really an anniversary, it's a daily celebration to look into each other's eyes over our favourite beverage, whether at home in bed, in his office or in the little hole in the wall coffee shop that we love so much and call our own. We sit saying nothing, but we don't need to say anything, we just watch the world go by. So much of our togetherness has been accompanied by coffee, but that first cup in the morning with him - there's nothing like it. That first sip of coffee, I still drink it with my eyes closed. It's a special part of greeting the day and hoping it will be good. A great cup of coffee in the morning with him and how could it be bad? He reminds me of that rush of caffeine just after the first few sips... He feels inviting and warm. Invigorating, enlivening, emboldened, strong and just a little bit edgy. I am grateful to have those fleeting moments that SO MANY take SO FOR GRANTED; I would never! It is a beautiful thing to share that vulnerable moment together when we just wake up groggy, rubbing the cobwebs from our eyes yawning... and he watches me over the rim of his cup with a wide grin on his face. The cup I bought for him years ago. It's worn and weathered now because he uses it all the time. Who wouldn't be grateful? They would have to be a darn fool! Coffee is one of our love languages. I will relish and savour being able to make and share that first cup of coffee every morning with him, that's my idea of paradise too! Johnny Cash had it right! A very special Happy Birthday message to the Cinnamon Cup Coffee community and all it's members. May we live long and prosper with caffeine flowing freely, making our lives just that much more epic. Thank you to everyone who contributes and especially to Milly for keeping it awesome. Have a freaking epic Anniversary! Image Source
