Clementine Patisserie Taksim Istanbul
About two days ago, after my visit to the hospital, I felt the need to have a coffee and relax. I had gone to the hospital with my mother. As I shared the other day, I had a brain MRI and we went to get the results. Fortunately, everything is fine and the cause of my facial paralysis was not a hidden cause originating in the brain. I am fine for now.
After receiving this good news, my mom and I decided to have a coffee together.
Clementine Patisserie Taksim Istanbul
Even when you look at the café from the outside, it has an inviting atmosphere. It immediately attracted my mother's attention and I recommended sitting in this cafe so as not to offend her. Normally, such concept cafes in places like Taksim are very expensive. Let me tell you how much money we spent on average.
The lattes and desserts you see in the picture cost around 300 Turkish liras in total. 15 dollars with today's exchange rate.
I don't think it's a very reasonable price. Still, it's nice to have a different experience. When you first look from the outside, the flowers in the cafe attract a lot of attention and you expect a nice smell inside. I can only say that it is a picture. The concept is nice, but the fake flowers discourage a lot of enthusiasm.
The Scent of Fake Flowers (The Absence Of It)
When you enter here, you should feel like you are in a garden.
But for that there must be good smells. At least they could have provided this smell with things like air freshener. Yes, this would have been an extra cost since the front of the cafe is completely open, but even though we sat there for an hour, not even once did we trigger a memory about the smell.
I think this is one of the cons.
Because of the climatic conditions, it is not possible for them to put real flowers. Also, I don't think they can take care of real flowers because it's indoors.
Although they put flowers as a concept, the fact that they are not real and that they are only collecting pictures for instagram gives you a fake happiness... a fake experience.
Instagram Cafe
Visually, there is a plus because fake flowers are used. No insects. But I don't know if the lack of insects is a plus or a minus.
Because I'm a nature lover.
I don't think this cafe is for a nature lover.
I think it's more for people who want to post pictures on Instagram and get likes. I was expecting it to remind me of the cafes I've been to in Bodrum, Milas or Alacati with real flowers. But I think I expected too much.
It would have been really hard for them to try to provide such a peaceful place in the middle of the city. It would have been very difficult to run, especially in the winter time as the plants would die. So I understand why they chose fake flowers, but I have to say it didn't satisfy me.
It's a cafe to go to if you don't want to have an experience but want to take nice pictures and put them on social media like instagram.
I Can't Ignore Quality Coffee Beans
I hadn't had quality coffee for a long time, and although I thought the price was a bit high, we drank our coffees with the enthusiasm of celebrating the positive news from the doctor.
We had one chai tea latte and a regular one. I would like to say that the coffees were successful. The guys working at the back bar had learned their job and the coffee beans were fresh. They made a presentation that tasted and smelled good. There were a lot of coffee options.
I can see that it is preferred here because it is on the road and they try to choose the best employees. Some cafes employ people who don't care about the cup after a certain point, or they don't care about the presentation after a certain point due to the tiredness of the day.
I didn't see such a problem here and I have no hesitation in saying that the coffees are good both in smell and taste.
6,5/10
I would like to say that it is a nice cafe in concept. The service, respect and desserts were good.
The coffee was good.
But I think it raised the expectation too high and failed to meet it. That's shooting itself in the foot. So I can't say that I liked the cafe very much.
I had a good coffee thanks to the successful baristas.
The cakes were also delicious.
The music playing in the background was in French and the waiters told us that the name of the cafe came from French. Obviously.
Thank you very much for reading.
