I tell you that the month of December began with a tenacious cold and even though I protected myself with a lot of layers of clothes, I caught a cold that kept me in bed most of the weekend. But, yesterday afternoon, I ended my rest and accepted my daughter's invitation to go to a shopping mall to buy some gifts to take to work today.
Anyway, I wrapped up warm and we went for a girls' afternoon. We visited several stores, all beautifully decorated and with lots of beautiful things to buy. After picking out the gifts, my daughter spoiled me with a delicious seasonal coffee at Starbucks.

When we arrived at Starbucks we found the promotions they are offering this December. One of them is The magic is in sharing in which there are several types of chestnuts to accompany with a sweet and make the perfect couple. The other Christmas promotion is Gifts that come in red, from this one I chose my hot Red Velvet Latte, a delicious coffee version of the popular Red Velvet cake that I really like.
This coffee is made from red velvet syrup, mixed with espresso, steamed milk, in this case I asked for lactose free, topped with whipped cream and red velvet frosting. All this combination makes this drink a Christmas party for the palate.
I confess that this dose of special coffee was what I needed to get over the flu. It felt great, I didn't want it to run out, so I enjoyed it sip by sip, while chatting with my daughter. She had a Cookies and Cream Frappuccino which was also delicious.
Thus ended our girls afternoon, an afternoon of shopping and delicious coffees this holiday season.
