Hello Cinnamon Cup Coffee community! Hoping you're all well and enjoying a cup of our favorite aromatic beverage, today I want to share with you a brand of coffee that my brother brought me a couple of days ago. Its name is Kiwa Kafé Gourmet. It's a brand characterized by its origins in the Andean lands of Venezuela, more specifically in the city of Rubio in the State of Táchira.
In previous articles, I've commented almost chronologically on how a new class of coffee producers has been emerging in Venezuela, whose goal is to bring the quality of Venezuelan coffee back to the high international standards it enjoyed centuries ago, when we were an agricultural country. In this sense, I have been able to notice 2 waves of coffee brands, the first were those that took the risk at a time of economic complications in Venezuela (2014-2020) but who managed to succeed and position themselves in the national market, the best example was Paramo Café which I have reviewed all its presentations in this community. The second wave began in 2022 once emerging coffee producers managed to break the monopoly of the 3 main coffee brands in the country, more coffee producers began to place their coffee brands on the market having great success and one of them is this coffee brand that I want to review for you: Kiwa Kafé.
The Andean mountain range in Venezuela has the privilege of having the best lands for coffee cultivation. We are talking about the states of Mérida, Trujillo, and Táchira. It is in this last state, Táchira, that this coffee brand, already well established in its region but unable to position its product in the country's major cities, reaches us. This changed in late 2021 when they managed to expand aggressively, and now this coffee brand is a common sight. This coffee brand is grown and harvested at Finca Kiwa, in the city of Rubio, and it's precisely because it's from that region of the Venezuelan Andes that I decided to give this coffee a try.
Just opening the package was enough to perceive the unique aroma of coffee harvested and processed in the Andean lands. You can smell the soft aroma of coffee and also a very characteristic caramel aroma. Unlike other coffees, this one isn't as dark, so it's most likely a mild roasted version.
Once opened, we prepared the coffee maker and decided to add 4 shots of this ground coffee to prepare a fairly strong coffee that we could enjoy. We added 3 cups of water and finally let it brew.

The aroma of coffee brewing filled the entire kitchen. I was accompanied only by my mother, so we decided to enjoy the sunset with a good cup of Kiwa coffee, but not before accompanying it with a special dessert!
An afternoon of coffee, cookies, and guava jelly!
It turns out that while I was working in the lab, I was given some guava jelly, and I decided to save it to spread on cookies to accompany the cup of coffee she had made for me. And wow! It was an excellent idea. The combination of this dessert with coffee was simply heaven. If you haven't tried this, believe me, it's absolutely worth it. Unfortunately, we ate all the jelly in the same day, so we couldn't repeat the experience for a future review with another cup of coffee.
Well, friends, with this, I conclude this review of Kiwa Kafé, which I give a final score of 8/10. I knew I wasn't wrong trying this coffee from the Andean lands. Esperando que se encuentren bien degustando una taza de nuestra bebida aromática favorita, el día de hoy quiero compartirles una marca de café que me trajo mi hermano hace un par de días, su nombre es Kiwa Kafé gourmet y es una marca caracterizada por provenir de las tierras andinas de Venezuela, más específicamente de la ciudad de Rubio en el Estado Táchira.
En artículos anteriores he comentado casi de forma cronológica como ha ido surgiendo con fuerza una clase nueva de productores de café en Venezuela que tienen el propósito de llevar nuevamente la calidad del café venezolano a los altos estándares internacionales que tuvieron siglos atrás, cuando éramos un país agropecuario. En este sentido he podido notar 2 oleadas de marcas de café, la primera fueron aquellos que tomaron el riesgo en un momento de complicaciones económicas en Venezuela (2014-2020) pero que lograron tener éxito y posicionarse en el mercado nacional, el mejor ejemplo fue Paramo Café el cual he reseñado todas sus presentaciones en esta comunidad. La segunda oleada comenzó en el año 2022 una vez que las productoras de café emergentes lograron romper el monopolio de las 3 principales marcas de café en el país, más productores de café comenzaron a colocar sus marcas de café en el mercado teniendo un gran éxito y una de ellas es esta marca de café que quiero reseñarte: Kiwa Kafé.
La cordillera andina en Venezuela tiene la gracia de tener las mejores tierras para el cultivo de café, estamos hablando de los estados Mérida, Trujillo y Táchira. Es en este último Estado, Táchira que nos llega esta marca de café que ya estaba bien establecida en su región pero que no había logrado posicionar su producto en las grandes ciudades del país. Esto cambió a finales del 2021 cuando lograron expandirse de forma agresiva y actualmente ver esta marca de café es algo frecuente. Esta marca de café es cultivada y cosechada en la Finca Kiwa, en la ciudad de Rubio y precisamente por ser de esa región de los andes venezolanos que decidí darle una oportunidad a este café.
Bastó con solo abrir el empaque para percibir ese aroma único del café que es cosechado y procesado en las tierras andinas, se siente el aroma suave del café y también un aroma a caramelo muy característico. A diferencia de otros cafés este no es tan oscuro por lo que es muy probable que sea una versión suave de grano tostado.
Una vez abierto preparamos la cafetera y decidimos agregar 4 golpes de este café molido para preparar un café bastante cargado y poder degustarlo, agregamos 3 tazas de agua y finalmente lo dejamos colar.

El aroma del café preparándose inundó toda la cocina, yo estaba acompañado solo de mi madre asi que decidimos disfrutar del ocaso del atardecer con una buena taza de café Kiwa pero no sin antes acompañarlo con un dulce especial!
Una tarde de cafe, galletas y jalea de guayaba!
Resulta que mientras estaba trabajando en el laboratorio me regalaron una jalea de guayaba y decidí guardarla para untarla con galletas y así acompañar la taza de café que me había preparado y wow! Fue una excelente idea la combinación de este postre con café era simplemente el cielo, si no has intentado esto créeme que vale absolutamente la pena. Lamentablemente nos comimos toda la jalea el mismo día por lo que no pudimos repetir la experiencia para una futura reseña con otro café.
Y bien amigos, con esto termino esta reseña del Kiwa Kafé al cual le doy una nota final de 8/10 sabía que no me equivocaba probando este café de tierras andinas, altamente recomendado si buscas opciones diferentes a las marcas establecidas de café venezolano en el mercado.
