And that's exactly what my friend Elvira and I experienced when we discovered a new café in the city of San Cristóbal that combines two concepts that we fell in love with from the very first moment: Reverdecer and Asabor.
We decided to go together as part of our farewell. She, my Cuban friend, a wonderful person who was my husband's co-worker at the hospital, will soon be leaving Venezuela, and we felt we needed a special place for that last coffee. We didn't know what to expect, we just wanted a nice, quiet place that would leave us with good memories. But this place exceeded all expectations.
When we arrived, we were welcomed by a warm atmosphere, filled with thoughtful details that invite you to stay. On one side, the Reverdecer area offered a lovely plant nursery with healthy, well-cared-for greenery, arranged so tenderly that it felt like every plant was smiling at the sun. Both of us are garden lovers and have small green corners at home, so we were instantly enchanted. My friend couldn’t stop gazing at every leaf, every flower, with that look of wonder that only comes when something touches your soul. For her, about to begin a new chapter far from this land, it was an unexpected gift.
Meanwhile, the scent of freshly brewed coffee led us to the other side of the place: Estamosasabor. There, we found a different atmosphere—just as cozy, but with a literary and nostalgic vibe. Shelves full of books invited us to browse, read, and explore. The contrast between nature and literature worked perfectly. One could move from chatting among plants to getting lost in the pages of a good book with just a few steps.
We tried the coffee—delicious, smooth, with that genuine flavor that needs no frills—and I insisted my friend try tequeños, a Venezuelan classic she had never tasted before. Her reaction was the best part of the day: a mix of surprise, delight, and those little laughs that come from the heart when something truly pleases you. She looked at me and said, “How have I never had this before?” And just like that, between bites of melted cheese, warm coffee, and many shared stories, we spent an afternoon I’ll cherish forever.
More than just a café, this place felt like a bridge between emotions. A space where nature, culture, and good company meet. It struck me as the perfect spot for those looking for more than just a drink—those in search of a full experience.
Reverdecer and Estamosasabor accomplished what few places can: they made me feel both at home and like I was discovering something entirely new. If you’re in San Cristóbal and want to be surprised, breathe in beauty, and taste a piece of our essence—this is the place.

Café, plantas y libros en San Cristóbal: Un rincón verde para despedidas memorables
¡Saludos amigos amantes del café! Les doy la bienvenida una vez más a mi blog.
Hay lugares que no solo se visitan, se sienten. Y eso fue exactamente lo que vivimos mi amiga Elvira y yo al descubrir un nuevo café en la ciudad de San Cristóbal que combina dos conceptos que nos enamoraron desde el primer momento: Reverdecer y Asabor.
Decidimos ir juntas como parte de nuestra despedida. Ella, mi amiga cubana, una persona maravillosa que fue compañera de trabajo de mi esposo en el hospital, pronto dejará Venezuela y sentíamos que necesitábamos un lugar especial para ese último café. No sabíamos qué esperar, solo queríamos un espacio bonito, tranquilo y que nos dejara buenos recuerdos. Pero este sitio superó cualquier expectativa.
Al llegar, nos recibió un ambiente cálido, lleno de detalles que invitan a quedarse. Por un lado, el área de Reverdecer nos ofrecía un vivero precioso con plantas sanas, bien cuidadas, colocadas con tanto amor que parecía que todas sonreían al sol. Nosotras, que somos fanáticas de los jardines y tenemos pequeños rincones verdes en casa, quedamos maravilladas. Mi amiga no podía dejar de mirar cada hoja, cada flor, con esa expresión de asombro que solo provocan las cosas que te tocan el alma. Para ella, que está a punto de empezar una nueva etapa lejos de estas tierras, fue como un regalo inesperado.
Mientras tanto, el aroma del café recién hecho nos guiaba al otro lado del lugar: Estamosasabor. Allí nos esperaba una atmósfera distinta, igual de acogedora, pero con un toque intelectual y nostálgico. Estanterías llenas de libros invitaban a hojear, leer, explorar. El contraste entre naturaleza y literatura funcionaba perfectamente. Uno podía pasar de conversar rodeado de plantas a perderse en las páginas de un buen libro con solo cruzar el espacio.
Probamos el café: delicioso, suave, con ese sabor auténtico que no necesita artificios y le insistí a mi amiga que debía probar los tequeños, ese clásico venezolano que no puede faltar. Fue su primera vez degustándolos. Su reacción fue lo mejor del día: una mezcla entre sorpresa, placer y esas pequeñas carcajadas que salen del corazón cuando algo te gusta de verdad. Me miró y dijo: “¿Cómo no había probado esto antes?” Y así, entre bocados de queso derretido, café caliente y muchas historias compartidas, pasamos una tarde que guardaré con mucho cariño.
Más allá de ser un simple café, este lugar se sintió como un puente entre emociones. Un espacio donde la naturaleza, la cultura y la buena compañía convergen. Me pareció ideal para quienes buscan más que una bebida: buscan una experiencia.
Reverdecer y Asabor lograron lo que pocos lugares hacen: hacerme sentir en casa y al mismo tiempo, en un sitio nuevo por descubrir. Si estás en San Cristóbal y quieres sorprenderte, respirar belleza y saborear un pedazo de nuestra esencia, este es el lugar.
