Almost every time I have posted in this community I have talked about pleasant moments, but, to be realistic, life is also made up of difficult and unpleasant moments. The funny thing is that even then the coffee has been there for me.
A few days ago my ex-partner asked me out for a chat. Since we don't really get along, I thought it would be to just catch up or something. We went to the Casa de la Trova, a place where they also sell one of the best cafes in the city. The day was gray, which I took as a first premonition, and when I saw the sadness in his eyes I understood that what I had thought in the first instance would not be the topic of the talk.
I listened carefully to every word, but I couldn't solve any of his problems. After our relationship I moved on and I have built a very different life than the one I had then. Anyway, I confess that if I hadn't had coffee at hand it would have been difficult for me to stay.
Maybe choosing the cappuccino was not the best option, because the combination of caffeine, cinnamon and the tension of the moment could affect my blood pressure. However, I felt it as a relief on the palate, with every drink.
In the end I left there quietly. I said the things I thought necessary, without hurting anyone, and continued with my day. At least, I had already had a good coffee.

Casi siempre que he publicado en esta comunidad he hablado sobre momentos gratos, pero, para ser realistas, la vida también está compuesta por momentos difíciles y desagradables. Lo gracioso es que incluso entonces el café ha estado ahí para mí.
Hace unos días mi expareja me pidió salir a conversar. Como no nos llevamos mal, pensé que sería para simplemente ponernos al día o algo por el estilo. Fuimos hasta la Casa de la Trova, lugar donde también venden uno de los mejores cafés de la ciudad. El día estaba gris, cosa que tomé como primera premonición, y cuando ví la tristeza en sus ojos entendí que lo que había pensado en primera instancia no sería el tema de la plática.
Escuché atentamente cada palabra, pero no podía resolver ninguno de sus problemas. Después de nuestra relación yo seguí adelante y he construido una vida muy distinta que la que tenía entonces. De todas maneras confieso que si no hubiese tenido el café a la mano me hubiese sido difícil permanecer.
Quizás elegir el capuchino no fue la mejor opción, pues la combinación de cafeína, canela y la tensión del momento podrían afectar mi presión arterial. Sin emargo lo sentí como un alivio en el paladar, a cada trago.
Al final me fui de allí tranquilamente. Dije las cosas que creí necesarias, sin herir a nadie, y continué con mi día. Por lo menos, ya había tenido un buen café.
