Yesterday morning we returned to our favorite place for Sunday walks, the Av. Ppal of La Lagunita, a neighborhood in El Hatillo municipality, where they close to traffic on the main street in one of its canals on Sunday mornings.
It had been weeks since we had been there because the hubby had been banned from exercising for a few weeks due to his arrhythmia problem, but now he can go for walks again.
So taking advantage of the fact that it wasn't raining, went for a walk.
Walking there is very nice because it is very wooded and a bit higher than other parts of the city, so it is also a bit cooler on hot days.
The walk was nice although I felt that yesterday was a bit more crowded and especially there were a lot of kids on bikes and tricycles which sometimes become a menace 😆.
When we left there, we had already planned to have a coffee in a nearby coffee shop that we didn't know and had been recommended to us. And I don't know about you, but I never say no to the possibility of a good coffee.
The cafeteria turned out to be a small place with a small bodegón. Only with one table inside, but with some tables outside. The atmosphere is nice. The music was perfect, so we immediately thought it was a good idea to go there.
The cappuccino was delicious. Super creamy just the way I like it.
And I loved the teaspoons that went with the cup, aren't they beautiful?
Our original intention was just to enjoy a cup of coffee. We had had yogurt and berries for breakfast at home earlier in the morning. But it was almost noon and the tables next to us had some delicious dishes for brunch. So since hubby had to go to a script reading in the early afternoon, we thought we could treat ourselves to brunch so we wouldn't have to come home and cook in a hurry. It was a good decision.
And since we haven't had one in some time, we decided to have some eggs benedict. The husband ordered them with Iberian ham. They were served on ciabatta bread with arugula.
I ordered some eggs benedict with salmon on English muffins. With the idea that we would share both dishes and each one would eat one of each type.
They were delicious, with top-quality ingredients. And a fair price for the quality of the food.
The place does not have a very extensive menu, paninis, croissants, and a few options of eggs benedict which by the way they serve at any time. The spot is perfect for a cup of coffee and a good conversation.
The place if you are in the area and want to try is called Bon Market.
It was a good combination for a sublime Sunday morning.
