Good morning Hive coffee freaks. Normally I don't bother with non-genuine Nespresso coffee pods as I've found plenty of selection from the Nespresso website and I put an order in about every few months for around 200 pods to feed my morning coffee addiction. Anyway while doing my weekly supermarket run and picking up some instant coffee for my cheapskate Dad I saw this.
LÓr Espresso coffee pods for Nespresso machines. Now I know Nespresso don't have any Papua New Guinea Highlands in their coffee selection and I have managed to pick up a coffee from this region before for my cafetiere and I have quite enjoyed it so I thought I'd give a box a try.
So what about the coffee? The pods look to be an exact copy of the Nespresso ones so there were no issues with them not fitting correctly and as usual, my first try was with an espresso to gauge the full intensity of the pods. The aroma really was very good sweet and woody so no issues there the espresso taste was really smooth and a bit fruity. The marked intensity of the pods is 7 so not a full lip tingling caffeine hit but very palatable all the same it would probably make a nice after-dinner coffee when you are after something smooth and mellow rather than a morning bugle wakeup call.
All for now folks time for an elevenses coffee and maybe a biscuit.
