I had a runny nose a little while ago, which turned into a cough, and on top of that, my hay fever started. I don’t even know what’s what anymore… Ah, it must be spring.
My throat is irritated and my voice is hoarse because of all the coughing and phlegm. Looking back, I never had a fever, and if anything, my body felt relatively fine, so maybe it was just hay fever from the start.
When my nose and throat aren’t in good shape, coffee and sweets don’t taste as good. I’ve been drinking mostly mint tea and chamomile tea, so I don’t have many coffee photos lately.
Today, I’m working at a café. I made an iced oat milk latte for myself for the first time in a while. I like adding a lot of ice and drinking it without mixing the espresso. If I made it without ice, I guess it would be like a “Dirty,” which originated at a cafe in Tokyo.
By not mixing the espresso, the first few sips taste like a macchiato and then to cortado, and as the espresso blends with the milk, it turns into a latte. If I get too busy at work to drink it, the ice melts and it transforms into an iced Americano with milk. It’s such a versatile way to enjoy coffee don’t you think? Haha You should give it a try!
Do you have a favourite way of preparing coffee? Coffee beverages like lattes and cappuccinos all have their own names, but I feel like they just became standard café menu items because they’re popular among many people. In the end, I think it’s great to enjoy coffee however you like.
Using non-dairy milk instead of regular milk is a great option, too.
Lately, my favorite is oat milk. There’s also soy and almond milk, but oat milk has a sweetness, richness, and a slight toasted flavor. It’s kind of like when you add a little caramel syrup to coffee.
One of the baristas makes an incredible coffee drink for herself with a little cream, vanilla syrup, and whipped cream added to my favourite way 😆

少し前に鼻風邪をひいて、それが咳風邪になって、ついでに花粉症も酷くなって、もう何がなんだか分からない状態な今日この頃。。。春なんですね。
とにかく痰が絡んで咳き込むので喉が荒れて声がかれています。思えば、熱も出なくてどちらかと言えば身体は軽かったので、もしかしたら初めから花粉症だったのかもしれないです。
でも鼻や喉の調子が悪いとコーヒーも甘い物も美味しくないですね。ミントティーやカモミールティーばかり飲んでいたのでコーヒーの写真もあまりありません。
今日はカフェで仕事。久しぶりに自分用のアイスオートミルクラテを作りました。無駄に氷をたくさん入れて、エスプレッソを混ぜずに頂くのが好きです。氷を入れずに作れば東京のカフェ発祥のダーティーになるのかな…
エスプレッソを混ぜないことで、最初の数口をマキアートやコルタードの様に楽しめ、エスプレッソがミルクと混ざった頃にはラテになります。忙しくて飲めずにいると、氷が溶けてミルク入りのアイスアメリカーノにもなるという、大変優秀な飲み方です、笑 お試しを！

コーヒードリンクには色々名前がついていますが、これらは特にポピュラーな飲み方がカフェのメニューになったんじゃないかなと勝手に思っています。
なので飲み方は人それぞれでいいと思うんです。
牛乳の代わりにノンミルクを使って楽しむのも良いですね。
最近の私のお気に入りはオートミルクです。ソイミルクやアーモンドミルクもありますが、オートミルクのほんのり甘くコクがあって、ちょっと香ばしい、ちょうどキャラメルシロップを少し加えた時の様な風味がエスプレッソと良く合います。
そうそう、甘くないミルメークのような味です！
