One of my favorite times is when I'm having a cup of coffee while thinking.
And now, there’s a cup of coffee next to my laptop while thinking and tapping on my laptop. It's like coffee can solve everything you're going through. It's like the strongness of the coffee that you are drinking and you has become one.
Just like today, I'm having a strong black coffee, no sugar, no milk, nothing fancy. And just like I am today, feeling strong, feeling that I can do everything if I will it. But everything changes every now and then, just like how we want our coffee every now and then. Sometimes we just want it black, sometimes we want it with sugar and milk, but often we go back to the blend that we are used to, the blend that suits our taste. Just like how we go back to the lifestyle that we are comfortable with. Just like how we keep on going back to our precious friends who already know our taste, who already know us.
But there are times, that the things we are used to changes. Sometimes no matter how we go back to how it was, things just aren't the same. Sometimes the sweetness we are looking for is gone already. Sometimes no matter how we look back the colors that once make us happy are not there anymore.
Is it because it became a habit? Is it because you are too comfortable that the person is always there, therefore it loses its importance? Or maybe we think that things will always stay the same and we didn't notice that small changes that lead to pushing away the person around us. We became too complacent that the people around us who are always there, will always be there for us, that in just one call or just one message they will be there in a jiffy.
Just like coffee, it also runs out even if we ordered an unlimited serving. And so are the people around us when we become too complacent that they will always be there.
Just like our stock of coffee, it needs to be refilled, each blend needs to be replaced. We need to replenish our stock so that every time we want it there is something we can get.
It is the same with how we care and look after the people around us. It must always be filled so that it does not lose its importance, does not lose its flavor, does not lose its color.
But what exactly can you do for the people around you? For the people, you care about?
Are they important enough for you to set aside time for them? Are they important enough for you to make them feel and let them know that they are important? Or maybe they're not that really important and it's ok to lose them? Is it okay with you if they lose their interest in you?
What about the taste of the coffee that you always go back to, what if one day it just loses its taste just because you've been too complacent with it too?
For me? You only neglect people who don't mean anything to you. They are the people who you push away unintentionally because it's okay to lose them. Because they don't matter, however, it's a different story for the people you care about.
Not all the time, the people around you will always understand you. Not all the time, they will always choose to stay even if your push them away. One day, you will just wake up and they are gone already, that no matter how you call, they are not there anymore.
Remember, Even coffee loses its meaning if left unattended.
And if you've come this far... I hope that I was able to entertain you and made you smile... and for that Thank you.
