Greetings, dear coffee connoisseur friends. I am very happy to participate again in the CONTEST - 2nd Anniversary & Valentine's. I take this opportunity to invite @ninaeatshere.
Act 1
Description of the setting for the scenario
A clear sky and a starry night create a truly spectacular scenery blanket for this walk, meanwhile, Amélie, thinks about her life, along with many things that must happen at the beginning of February.
(poetic monologue 1)
Amélie:
Things come to my mind amid loneliness.
She always accompanies me
She has been a good friend
So much so that she has sat in my life, staying with me
Without having a reason to be able to separate her from here.
She seems to feel very comfortable.
Narrator's voice
As she sits on a park bench on the banks of the river, from afar the silhouette of a character begins to show itself until he approaches her and sits down next to her. It is Gerald, an old friend she has always been in love with.
Gerald:
Hello Amélie.
What a fortune to find you on my path.
Just when I was lost in the middle of this vegetable immensity.
Gerald: Tell me.
What are you doing here all alone?
What has become of your life in all these years?
Amélie:
Hello Gerald, I haven't heard from you for a long time.
I thought you'd left the country like so many other people
or that you forgot me completely
Gerald:
Just keep silent and smile with a shy look, pretending to be sorry.
Amélie:
Life has smiled on me very well in terms of prosperity, a good job, and a nice apartment, but it has limited me in time.
I live immersed in continuous tasks, which have distanced me from social relationships and therefore, from the possibility of finding good love.
How I miss the possibility of having an ideal partner, a friend, someone who is the other half of this orange, with whom I would like to share my world.
Gerald:
I see that I missed a lot in your days
If only I had stayed for some time, who knows?
Maybe, our friendship could have turned into something more.
I would fill that void.
Amélie:
With a mischievous smile, she replies:
Only fate has that answer.
You know Gerald, I don't know why?
But walking along the river bank has always pleased me, since I came to France, my days have been immersed in those beautiful landscapes, and in the architecture of its buildings, there is a reason why they call it the city of light, Paris is bright and very bright.
There is nothing more beautiful and precious than seeing the Eiffel Tower illuminating with its great reflector the corners of this city, showing to all its inhabitants every night a ray of hope if we can say it in any way.
Don't you feel the same?
Gerald:
With a slightly opaque and low tone, he replies:
Yes, you are right, it is an ideal thing to enjoy, but not in solitude.
That's why I ask you not to let opportunities pass you by and enjoy them to the fullest.
Find someone to share a good cup of coffee with to brighten up your life.
Amélie smiles with a seductive look.
Act 2
Description of the setting for the scene
Amélie admires the sky while listening in the background to the Édith Piaf song she has always loved, life in pink, sung by street musicians in the park.
Narrator's voice
Suddenly, perhaps by chance, perhaps as a reflection of the sky, or as a premonition and a divine sign, she sees in the firmament pass the famous green comet, a natural phenomenon that she vaguely remembered from an internet publication.
Amélie:
(poetic monologue 2)
Oh, Gerald, you can see that ray of hope in the sky
that same energy that unites us
is destiny
It is you with whom I want to share my coffee every morning
how much I've longed to have you by my side again
talking to you is a miracle, it's what I needed
stay with me
let's change our destinies
let's make possible what we never were
but now we will be.
Suddenly everything is transformed before my eyes,
I can understand things I've never seen before,
in the streets, things change,
the people who walk are different
their clothes are no longer of this time
the avenues no longer look like the ones I know
full of modernity
Without a doubt,
the cityscape I'm used to is gone
Gerald, What's going on?
Is it the magic of this green comet?
Love, or the aroma of coffee.
Gerald:
Please be calm
just enjoy the moment
let's drink that cup of coffee together
luckily, the thermos is still keeping it warm
just look into my eyes
see the gleam of joy that being with you brought me.
Amélie:
Why do you say such strange phrases to me?
Is there something wrong with you, and you don't want to tell me?
Come on, Gerald, you've always known that I love you very much.
But I never dared to tell you
I'm sorry I didn't shout my wishes to the four winds
before you left.
Gerald:
That's just it, Amélie,
I've already left
but I needed to say goodbye to you before I came into the light.
Act 3
Dénouement
Gerald:
Goodbye, my love
please don't cling to the past
life and enjoy it.
Narrator's voice.
Amélie did not say another word.
But she immediately understood that the love of her life was no longer on the earthly plane.
Only the magic of love allowed her to share a few moments over a cup of coffee before disappearing forever.
