"Thank Goodness", I said with excitement immediately I sighted a grocery store sign board ahead.
"Good afternoon, young man", an aged woman greeted me as I stepped in.
"Good afternoon Grandma", I replied.
I went to the chiller and stared at it but none of the products would satisfy my craving.
"You want something else?", the old woman asked as I walked away from the chiller.
"Hmmm, not really. I want something chilled, preferably coffee ma", I replied.
"Oh, you are a coffee lover. Give me a few minutes", she replied.
I waited patiently as she went to the other side of the counter, she returned with a jug of coffee and ice cubes.
"There is a seat there, relax and enjoy", she passed the jug and other things she was carrying.
"Thanks, ma", I replied.
I placed the stuff gently on a stool and sank into the small sofa.
I gently poured the coffee and added ice cubes.
"Wow, this is great", I gave a big smile after gulping the first glass of coffee.
"You must have been on the road for too long", she said from the counter.
"Yes, it's been a hectic day for me. I am returning from an abandoned site where I expected to find some coffee related artefact but there was nothing, the place has been cleared", I replied
"Oh, that must be disappointing. Is that your profession, you trade artefacts for money?", she asked.
"No ma, I don't sell them. I only collect coffee-related artefacts for display in a place where coffee lovers can visit to learn about them and also interact with other coffee lovers for free", I replied.
I brought out my phone and showed her some pictures.
"Wow, this is lovely. You are a good man", she said after seeing the pictures.
"How much for the coffee, ma?", I asked after drinking the last drop in the jug.
"Don't worry, coffee is not for sale here plus I am happy with what you are doing", she replied.
I placed a hundred-dollar note on the counter and bid her goodbye.
"Hold on, young man", she said and I answered.
"I have some items that will be a great addition to your collection", she added.
"Oh really, thanks ma", I replied.
"Come with me", she said.
She took me to an apartment behind the store.
"You live here", I asked.
"Yes, with my daughter but she has a terminal illness. My husband died years ago", she replied.
"Sorry about your husband and daughter's health", I replied.
We went through a narrow stairs to the bunker and she told me to carry a particular box. It was dusty and I can tell it has been there for a while.
"Father gave me this box and it has been there for four decades. I only checked it when he gave me and haven't opened it since then, I don't have any use for them", she said as we got out.
I opened the box and started bringing them out but she advised me to do that later because the sun was setting. I tipped her a few thousand, took her contact and promise to visit her again.
"At least, my trip wasn't in vain", I said to myself as I drove out of the premises.
I was too tired to check the box when I got home. I left it in my garage and dragged my tired self to the bedroom.
I felt better in the morning, made myself a cup of coffee and went to the garage.
I started bringing the items out of the box. "These are items from about three centuries ago", I giggled.
I found a small clay jar at the bottom of the box, it was moulded like a magic lamp.
I examined the jar and there was an inscription on it.
It says, "pascat me capulus fabam".
I quickly checked my Google translator and the translation was, "Feed me coffee beans".
I took the jar to my kitchen and poured some coffee beans into it. I was expecting a genie to pop out just like in the movie but nothing happened.
"Let's go back to the garage", I said jokingly to the jar after preparing another cup of coffee for myself.
The Jar had become heavy and it made me terrified for a second.
I opened it to see why and a genie popped out.
A coffee-coloured giant was floating right in front of me.
"Thanks for feeding me coffee beans, it feels good to be out again", the genie said.
I didn't believe my eye and just stared as it spoke to me.
"I will grant you one wish so tell me what you want", the genie added.
"A genie,Am I hallucinating?", I asked.
The genie burst into laughter and replied, "I am real".
"I can be the wealthiest man, very famous and powerful", I thought.
Suddenly, the old woman challenges came to my mind.
"She is lonely, what if I help her instead?", I said to myself.
I got the remaining coffee beans in the cabinet, it was little but enough to make one cup of coffee.
"Please make the coffee powerful enough to heal any kind of illness", I said to the genie.
"Wish granted", he said after pouring some tiny light into the beans. He returned to the jar and I tapped my face to be sure it wasn't a hallucination.
I hired a driver to take me to the old woman's place and she was surprised to see me return quickly.
"These coffee beans will heal your daughter", I said to her after exchanging pleasantries and didn't wait to see the outcome of the coffee beans.
I called her a few hours later and was happy to hear the good news.
"The coffee beans did the miracle, my daughter is healthy again. Thank you George".
