The battle between hot and cold tea started a long time ago in my home. My mom is the always hot tea type and her choice is everyone's choice else you aren't having tea. I was very young and didn't have a choice than to have it hot.
She believes that having your tea hot is more beneficial to the body than having it cold but that wasn't my belief. Although, I love the creamy taste but I was just a cold drink addict. There are times, I always waited for my tea to cool off before I drank it and mom felt like the tea would be less beneficial to my body.
I remember one night when I was finding it difficult to sleep because of the heat, I took my bath but didn't stop sweating. My made me a small warm cup of tea and told me to drink it, I was like how will this help me in this weather?
Just to prove to her that it wouldn't work, I drank the warm tea and it did wonders. I felt my body temperature reduce after sweating for another few minutes so I took an extra shower and was able to sleep.
It's strange how I love my food warm but fluid cold and many times, I tell myself that the mixture of both will create a balance in my belly.
As I grew older, I started switching between hot and cold tea/coffee depending on what my body demands or my reason for drinking.
I love it hot in the morning because it helps my body to become active almost immediately. I am not a heavy sleeper but sometimes, my body doesn't get active immediately after I get out of bed so I depend on hot tea or coffee to wake up completely.
It's not an everyday thing because there are days that I start buzzing immediately after I get out of bed so I just take something chill to keep the energy flowing. Aside from that, I love it hot during cold weather. I don't get cold easily but there are times, I still depend on hot tea to stay in shape.
At noon or night, I go for cold coffee or tea if my body demands it. Cold tea or coffee does the magic for me when engaging on Hive or doing other things online.
While having my tea or coffee hot helps me to get myself together in the morning, having it cold keeps me going. They serve different purposes for me and I have reasons to switch between them.
There is a huge difference in taste when having your coffee hot or cold. I won't deny enjoying the rich taste I get taking it hot, the flavour is another thing that compliments the taste and combined, they give me a super satisfaction.
Regardless, I won't look down on how cold tea or coffee sends chills through my body. It works like some energy kind of nanobot and helps me stay cool while working, watching movies or doing any other thing.
It's a tough one to choose between hot or cold but there is always a favourite judging by taste and flavour. Putting the two into consideration will always make me choose it hot, the taste and flavour reaches a whole different level when served hot.
