This time, I would like to share my story and experience when I visited a coffee shop in Medan City, where I live. Keep listening to the story of my coffee journey this time.
Pilastro Signature
Some time ago, I accidentally saw the timeline on my friend's social media. I saw him go into a very attractive coffee shop located in the center of town. I immediately entered the coffee shop to be one of the two coffees that I would visit and I finally had the opportunity to come to these two coffee shops, Pilastro Signature.
Pilastro Signature is a coffee shop that does business in Medan City. This coffee shop is located at H. Misbah Street no. 18 B Medan Maimun District – Medan City. The location of this coffee shop is very strategic, because it is in the middle of the city and very close to crowded points such as government offices, elite schools and universities, banking, and also other corporate offices.
Pilastro Signature uses old and old buildings, but is modified in a very modern and attractive way. Unfortunately, I came to this coffee shop when it was raining heavily and couldn't take a picture of the front of this building. The Pilastro Signature building is like a Dutch colonial style house but has received very interesting modifications and modernization without compromising the classic impression that this building has.
One of the attractions of Pilastro Signature is how this coffee shop can utilize the space and area of this building and create various spaces according to function and also instagramable. Every corner of this coffee shop is very beautiful for a photo background. The choice of decorations, interiors, decorative ornaments, even the furniture makes us unable to resist uploading them on social media. Pilastro Signature, seems to know that one of the basic human needs today is social media content.
I came to Pilastro Signature just before lunchtime, I was planning to sit back and drink coffee and write a post or two here. I choose a comfortable position and table to do that. Pilastro Signature provides a lot of space and furniture that can be adjusted according to our purpose for coming here. Want to hangout? eat well ? coffee or casual tea? work from a coffee shop? everything can be done here. Because of that, we can see that the visitors and customers of this coffee shop are quite busy and also vary from office employees, socialite women, even student groups who come here.
It's Tea Time
When I come to a coffee shop or café, coffee is always the drink of choice that I will order. It doesn't matter whether it's espresso, long black, latte, cappuccino, manual brew, even cold brew, I can always enjoy coffee with various brews and flavors. Likewise when I came to Pilastro Signature, I was planning to order a cup of hot long black but I canceled because I saw the “Tea Time” menu from Pilastro Signature.
I was curious about the tea from this coffee shop, I asked the waiter if I could go to the coffee bar to taste the aroma of tea. I want to order tea for my visit to this coffee shop. On that day, there were three artisan teas that we could order, namely serenite, good night mint, and tropical sunset. Of the three teas, I was interested in trying the tropical sunset to accompany me on that rainy day.
My tea order came on time, not too fast but not too long either. The tea I ordered came to my table when I really wanted to drink it. From a distance, the fragrant aroma of tea makes me smile, it's been a long time since I tasted tea that smells like this.
This Tropical Sunset Tea is served in a medium sized pot. This tea pot is also very cute and pretty, I think this tea pot is not only a tea container but also a container for brewing it. In the center of the tea pot, there is a space filled with a stainless tube with small holes. Tea is put into the tube and then brewed, it's a very practical tool.
I'm the type of person who likes a bolder taste of tea. That's because throughout my life, I always drink black tea with sugar so I need tea that is dark and black. However, since I learned to drink coffee without sugar, I also try to occasionally enjoy quality tea. Because apparently, the culture of drinking tea with sugar is not common outside Indonesia.
Anyway, this Tropical Sunset Tea has a very strong aroma like the smell of a flower garden in spring. This very fragrant aroma makes me shiver a little, I think about how genius the people who concoct this artisan tea are. I think it's not just tea, there are various flowers, and other plants that make the aroma like this.
I try to slowly sip this tea. Taste ? wow, I can not explain in detail and clearly. For me, it tastes like sweet, but fruity sweet like guava, not thick sweet like sugar. One thing that is very important to me, the taste and aroma are very soothing and soothing to my soul. Yup, once in a while we really have to try other drinks besides coffee. Really, a very pleasant tea time experience for me.
