Oslob was once just a simple provincial town until the gentle giants came and tourism emerged, making a lot of commodities in this town also expensive. Aside from that, new establishments began popping up here and there, and even during the heights of the pandemic, even if a lot of the businesses had no choice but to close down temporarily, there were some which were resilient and even some more which opened up!
Today, let's talk about Luka Coffee. Tourists might be laughing especially those who are from the north why the cafe is named Luka which means crazy but this cafe's name is derived from the barangay's name - Luka.

A few barangay before arriving at the whale shark point, this cafe is quite a sight because of its bright yellow wall color plus the name has been huge and hard to miss.
I guess this is the first cafe away from the main town which offers such a great view and since guests and visitors usually are from the city, they'd surely want to start or end their day with their caffeine needs, Luka Coffee is a perfect place to be!
My husband, a local Oslobanon, had spotted this cafe a few times before but we could only visit it in 2022 when we had our vacation. We wanted to try their coffee but only had a chance to go there by the afternoon so we decided to get some frappe ones instead.
But first, we have to enjoy the view from their glass walls and their really pretty plants! When we arrived, there was no parking space available so we have to wait for a space before going in, as expected, there were so many customers too that some went to the beachfront already while waiting for their orders.
We came back inside when we noticed that there were customers leaving the cafe. This spot right here below is a great spot for a sweet morning coffee session with your loved one! I adore it!

They have these plants which the owner really loves, we had a little chitchat while we were enjoying our coffee later that afternoon as there were only a few customers left and the wife said she had customers who had toddlers and would pick the leaves of her plants, she was thankful Matti didn't hurt her plants. I understand how she feels because my mother also has plants and would cry if something happens to the leaves. I bet "plantitas" can relate!

Here is their menu and they offer:
Hot/Iced Drinks:
- Cappuccino
- Macchiato
- Dark choco
- White choco
- Plumberry
- Tea
Frappes:
- Hazelnut
- Vanilla Caramel
- Java Chip
- Salted Caramel
And many more!

They got cakes too and some merchandise here which has good causes like the sunglasses from Wodd.
We ordered blueberry cheesecake, burger, Hazelnut, and Salted Caramel frappes. When we ordered this, there were still a lot of customers so we did go out to enjoy the beach and their al fresco area.

Chairs and tables are available outside, there are in fact more seats outside than inside but of course, because the inside is air-conditioned and there are better seating options, most customers would prefer to stay there plus, it has a better view of the ocean. But this here still wouldn't hurt especially if you are a beach lover!
I must say, this beach is better than what we have near my husband's place. They got fine sand here although there are rocks scattered still, I prefer this! Matti was even able to scribble in the sand!

After a few minutes, we decided to go inside and our orders were already served! Look at the native-inspired table and seat here:

Frappe was good! And I believe pricing-wise and considering the view, this is okay. The sandwich was also generous with the tuna filling but the blueberry was a little disappointing, it was not what I was hoping to be but still, we finished it because "sayang". Tehee.
Luka Coffee is a beachside coffee shop with a relaxing vibe, a great view of the beach, and, of course, its coffee and delectable food offerings. Do stop by if you are visiting the town and most of the tourist spots in Oslob are just a few minutes away from Luka!
