Here's another cafe experience this time at Ritz Cafe. When this cafe first opened, we were not able to visit the original location. I then saw a post online about it that they transferred to a new location - a much better location. I know the place they have transferred to because there was one cafe we have been there and it has a view of sunset.
With sunset on my mind and of course coffee, we headed there to Ritz Cafe.
We arrived there with a few minutes before the sun set.
I snapped right away upon entering. This is how the cafe looks like. Not so keen about the artificial tree in the middle though. However, look at all the natural light coming through those windows.
Okay, I lied. That was not the first photo I took.
It was these babies that greet you when you enter the cafe - pastries and cakes! Oh, heaven! That's a great strategy to entice customers right away.
Just look at those cakes glowing, beckoning for you to pick one. Goodbye diet. Hello, calories and sweets! All good things come in threes. Whoever said three is a crowd haven't had that much craving for cakes lol!
That's right. We ordered three of these. Cheat day it is.
Beside this cake stand is the counter and behind that is the kitchen where all the magic happens.
But first, we settled in one of the tables by the windows. Only one table was occupied by a group that time.
I ordered brewed coffee and my partner had ube (purple yam) latte.
Then I headed back to the cakes again and chose cakes.
I chose blueberry and peach cakes. The blueberry is okay although I would have preferred it to be more dense. The peach moist cake was a delight for it seem to melt in your mouth.
Both cakes were not that sweet. The amount of sweetness was just right to my taste.
I mentioned three cakes. My partner then ordered a chocolate cake later on.
I like that cute little seahorse on his drink.
With our drinks and cakes in front of us, we were all set. We were just waiting for the sunset. By this time, it already started setting but I waited until the colors got more interesting.
It was during this wait that a group came in and settled by the balcony door. I didn't mind them at first but with nothing else to do, I diverted my attention to the newly entered group and the person facing me looked familiar. Because of the distance, I couldn't be sure so I got up and approached their table to be sure. If I am mistaken, then I have a reason to go out the balcony anyway and take photos. It was indeed a friend that I haven't seen in a long time. We chatted a bit and then I went back to our table.
I was almost done with my coffee. One cup is not enough for me but I restrained myself from ordering another one. Instead, I settled for water as I slowly eat through the rest of the time.
What I like about this place is that you can see Sto. Tomas and Mt. Cabuyao right in front of you. Rainy days like this though keep them behind the clouds especially in the afternoons.
Rainy afternoon and the sun setting, perfect opportunity for a rainbow. I looked toward the west and sure enough, a rainbow was there.
Two rainbows. They looked better in person, more vibrant in color.
Finally, the moment we have been waiting for.
Our cakes were long gone but we still waited until the last lights of the sun faded into total darkness. We bade goodbye to our friend and companions before heading out and going home.
If ever you are in the city, consider Ritz Cafe. They are located at the ground floor of Summer Pines Residences along Marcos Highway. They are open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wifi is available, all the more reason to hang out there longer while enjoying the view, their food and drinks, time with family and friends or just by yourself. Cash and cards are accepted.
Here's a screenshot from Google maps.
It's a few kilometers away from the city center. I like the ambiance and cozy atmosphere. It's surely one of my fave cafes because of that and the view of course.
