Lovely mountain view
My sister with a cappuccino to go
Last month, my sister and I discovered a little gem tucked away in the Western Cape — a cozy café called Sadie’s. Nestled at the foot of the mountains, Sadie’s has a charm that’s impossible to ignore. It used to be someone’s home, and that warmth still lingers in the air. Now renovated into a coffee shop, it feels like sitting in a friend’s living room — if your friend happened to have spectacular mountain views from their porch.
We both ordered cappuccinos, and they arrived in big ceramic cups with perfectly frothed milk and just the right touch of flavour. They were the kind of cappuccinos you want to sip slowly, savouring both the drink and the conversation. We chatted about everything and nothing, watching the light shift over the peaks outside.
On a whim, we picked out a cookie from the display — shaped and decorated like a panda face. It was almost too cute to eat… almost. Sweet, buttery, and just a bit crumbly, it paired perfectly with our coffee.
Cute little Panda biscuit
There’s something about small cafés like Sadie’s that makes time slow down. Maybe it’s the creaky wooden floors or the way the staff greet you like a regular even if it’s your first visit. Either way, it was a perfect little afternoon — just me, my sister, good coffee, a panda cookie, and the mountains watching over us.
